Wow. Now if that isn’t a loaded question, I don’t know what is. So many different answers immediately begin to fly around in my head, and with my smartass mouth and off-the-charts sarcasm, most of them would probably lead to me be killed off as a character in her next book if I was to voice them aloud.
Oh wait… she already did that, so I guess I’ve got nothing to lose by revealing the down and dirty truth.
Let’s see, where do I even begin? I suppose we should start with the sex, because honestly, that’s what everyone always wants to know. Even though I’d love to think that most of the bow-chica-wow-wow scenes are direct play-by-play descriptions from our own intimate moments, I’m pretty sure she feels she needs to hold back a bit when she’s writing, not wanting her readers to feel like they’ve been missing out in their own lives of the magnitude of awesomeness I bring to the table… err, the bed. It might just ruin them for life.
Okay, okay, I kid, but I am always game to any form of “research” she wants to do under the covers, in the shower, or pretty much anywhere else that won’t lead to us getting arrested. After all, I would never want her to write a scene that isn’t logistically correct--for the sake of literary accuracy, of course.
In all honesty, being married to Erin the author isn’t much different from being married to Erin the person. She’s still the same easy-going, hard-working, caring and compassionate girl she was before she decided to make the leap from reader to writer. However now, since she works full-time in the home, she’s just able to be all of those things wearing those damn crazy-ass leggings without ever brushing her hair. Though I must admit, sometimes when she’s really engrossed in one of her books, I have to remind her to both shower and eat. For all of our sakes.
After all, if I’ve learned nothing else from reading her books, I realize more than ever that the value of your life isn’t determined on what you have in it, but rather who you have in it. And I know without a shadow of a doubt, author or not, Erin Noelle will forever be my happily-ever-after.
