WOW! This is my first read from Penelope Douglas and wow. Her writing is superb, one of the best. I was glued to this story from the first page. She really has a way of telling a story that will pull any reader in. I can’t believe I waited this long to read one of her books, but I’m so glad I did. Birthday Girl is one of the best forbidden romance out there. I love it so much. I was so hooked on this book, I wish I didn’t have work the next day, just so I can bury my face in this book. It was so hard for me to do anything else, I couldn’t stop thinking of Pike and Jordan. Their story of forbidden love, is full of angst, sexiness and full of love. This book is hot hot hot.

The first time Jordan and Pike met was just an ordinary day. I was so shocked when I found out who Pike was. I didn’t read the Blurb of this book, I trusted an Author friend’s recommendation and I’m so glad I paid attention to her book post. Because wow this book is one of the best. I love Pike for the man that he was, the love he had for his son and the Love he had for Jordan. I wanted to cry for them, for everything they went through. I also wanted to jump for joy when these two finally gotten together. There was so much sexual tension between the two, I couldn’t’ believe how long they kept their hands off each other. Pike was a man and a dad and he did everything for love.



I can’t say enough about how I am in love with this story. Pike and Jordan were so hot together. Author Penelope Douglas really knows how to write those scenes. She never made anything dirty, everything with Pike and Jordan were sexy. Their characters were written so beautifully and with so much thought, that I fell for their characters so easily. I wanted them to be together so bad, even if it was wrong at first. They deserved each other. …And the ending wow. Beautiful ending, a well deserved ending. I loved it. I recommend this to everyone.
