☆☆☆☆4 Be My December Stars ☆☆☆☆
Be My December? That simple one question and one answer was all it took to change the lives of two people destined to meet. Can redemption, second chances and love be found in one month? Is one month enough to erase all the pain, regret, and fear from the eyes of two strangers?

December 16th. The date that will forever be engrained in Eden Rivers’ life. On that day, a life was destroyed and innocence was lost. The word, “NO,” as powerful as it was lost its meaning that cold night on December 16th when Eden lost her voice when her cries of help was ripped from her when she was brutally raped. Fast forward to four years later, the word “no” has lost its meaning for Eden. She became a woman who can’t say ‘no’ and is ridden byfear and shame. So what happens when Eden finally meets the person who makes her wants say ‘yes’ for all the right reasons?

One mistake. One Regret. One night that will forever haunt Ky Crawford. A past full of secrets that have tormented him. So when he meets Eden, a woman who has been hiding out of fear, will he be able to bring back the spark that once lit her eyes. Will Ky be able to unravel the wall surrounding her heart? Or will her past prevent her from getting close to the one man, who makes her feel alive? They say love heals so can redemption be found for Ky?

The chemistry and connection between Ky and Eden is a force that cannot be explained. Call it fate or unexpected circumstance, Ky and Eden were two people given a second chance at life, love, and redemption. Two people haunted by a past are finally given a chance for a future. No amount of time could stop a force like Ky and Eden. One month, one question was all that was needed to changes the lives of Ky and Eden. Be My December?

Be My December was the first book that I have I read from Rachel Brookes and definitely won’t be my last. Ms. Brookes will take her readers on an emotional journey of two people haunted by their pasts, finding strength, love, hope and closure within each other. The beauty of second chances is the gift of tomorrow. So if you are looking for a book that will take you on a journey filled with hope, healing, love, and forgiveness, then I suggest you go read Be My December.

Ky is a bachelor who works his ass off. He doesn't do relationships, he likes to scratch the itch and that is all there is to it. His best-friend is his younger brother, whom he would do just about anything for. He has lived his past 4 years of regret and it's weighing him down, doesn't know how long he can take it. Once he came to terms, he decided that it was time to face the gnawing issues he tried to ignore for years.

Eden is a photo editor and loves it. It's her way of therapy. December 16th was when her innocence was ripped from her by Jeremy Davis. That was her past that she can't seem to shake out of. She pretends to be someone else and calls herself YES girl. The reason for that is because of her past. If she says NO then she might end up in the predicament she was in before she became a great pretender, someone who has the smile plastered on her face and has no care in the world.

The journey they took together was just so sweet and I fell in love with it the moment I started reading this book. Having to go through what Eden went through was horrible. She was pretty strong for trying to move forward with her life. But once she meets Ky, the wall she put up may be destroyed since he knows his way around her heart. The proposition that Ky had for Eden might change both their lives forever. If she agrees with him, that is.

The love they had for each other was so strong that no one could break this bond they built for each other. It was a second chance at love that I truly enjoyed. Since everyone deserves to get their second chance. I fell in love with Ky my knight and shining armor and Eden the strong, independent woman who fought her battles the best way she can. Some were good and some were bad decisions, but no one is perfect.
The story is about fighting to live your life, even after the horrible past you were given. You rise above it and move forward. "Don't let the past dictate who you are but let it be part of who you will become." Awesome job Ms. Brookes. Now, who got me curious with Josh's story and I cannot wait to read all about it.
