The PAST. Let's face it we all have something in our past that we all wished to forget and erase from our memories. There are even times you wished you could be given a do-over. And there are times you wished you could just truly move on from your past and not let the past dictate and steal us from living in the moment. But what if your past is so horrible. So dirty. So painful. And what if your past has left you broken? Can you truly forget a past that has you left broken, tainted, and dirty?

Dirty Past by Emma Hart was a sexy, emotional, heartbreaking and beautiful journey of love, second chances, and moving on. I loved Dirty Past because it was simply more than a love story but a story of healing, acceptance, and learning that the past doesn't have to taint your future. The past doesn't have to be the dark cloud looming over your head forever. Your past is just a story and only a chapter in your life. And Emma Hart truly captures and delivers this message to her readers.
Abuse. Regardless if it's physical or emotional, abuse is something that must not be tolerated. In this delicate and sensitive subject, Emma Hart was able to weave an emotional and heartbreaking story of a young woman learning to escape and free herself of an abusive relationship. For years, Ella Dawson was her fiance's punching bag. And when Ella finally had enough and came to a realization that her fiance could actually kill her, she took the biggest risk. She left her socialite family knowing that her ex comes from a wealthy family and no one would believe that her ex could be abusing her. So when she left her old life behind, she had to start all over and so she took a job to be the PA of Dirty B, a rock band.
Tate Burke is pure sex. A womanizer. A man who is no stranger to women flocking to him. So when he meets a woman, who isn't easily charmed by his flirtatious ways, it intrigues him. Like a moth to a flame, Tate was drawn to Ella. There was something about her that he couldn't explain that made him want to protect and claim her. And when Tate finally was able to tear down the walls that Ella built, he made it his mission to protect her at all cost. If there is one thing you must know about Tate Burke is that he protects the ones he love. And Ella Dawson is the woman he loves. So what happens when Ella's past comes barreling back? Will Ella retreat back to her shell? Or will Tate fight his way into her heart and show her that no one can hurt her again?

The emotional journey of this book was what captured my heart. This book was so raw and vulnerable that I applaud Ms. Hart for writing a story that dealt with a sensitive subject of abuse. I love that Ms. Hart didn't brush this subject under the rug but she allowed her readers to FEEL. To feel the hurt and the emotional pain that are associated with people who lived and experienced abuse. The writing in the book captures the essences that love heals and second chances at life and love do exist. So if you are looking for a book that was sexy, touching, and had heart then I highly urge you to read Dirty Past by Emma Hart. Not only will this book make you believe in new beginnings but this book will make you fall in love with the sexy rock star, Tate Burke.
