It’s no secret that I absolutely adore Rachel Van Dyken and so it’s given that I will devour her surprise release of Keep. So is Keep a keeper? Well the answer to that is simple… duh!

If you aren’t familiar with an RVD book, then you are truly missing out on falling in love with stories that are full of passion, raw emotions and heart. In this second installment to the Seaside Pictures Series, RVD introduces readers to Zane Andrews, who is considered a rock god that is adored by thousands of fans. Sex, fame, money and rock’n’roll is what people think Zane’s life consist of. He’s a sinner and saint. But what his fans don’t know is the real Zane Andrews.
Who is the real Zane Andrews? Well for one, he is a marshmallow fiend. The man is addicted to this sticky and fluffy deliciousness. He is also a very private person and doesn’t have many friends. Also, Zane carries the burdens of his past and suffers from anxiety attacks. And one last thing, he is a virgin. Yes, that’s right Zane Andrews, rock superstar is a virgin.
When Zane runs into Fallon, he find himself being drawn to her. He wants to get to know of the girl who wears glasses that are too big for her face and doesn’t seem to care that he is Zane “Saint” Andrews. He loves the fact that Fallon doesn’t see Zane the superstar but instead as the annoying rock star that loves to tease her and call her four eyes. Soon Zane finds himself developing a friendship with Fallon and slowly begins to let her in. He informs Fallon of his sad childhood from bouncing in the foster system after his grandmother past away and why he loves marshmallows. As their relationship progresses, Zane finally loses his virginity to the one woman that makes feel home.

Fallon doesn’t see Zane the celebrity but she truly sees Zane Andrews. She sees the man who has an unhealthy obsession with marshmallows. But most importantly, she sees a man who has beautiful soul that just needed to be reassured that he is indeed loved. Fallon makes it known to Zane that she will never abandon him ever.

Fallon and Zane are two peas in a pod. They just fit. Everything about their relationships works. It’s sweet, beautiful, and absolutely sticky with so much love, respect, honesty, and compassion. And so when their relationship hits a hurdle, will Zane be able to keep Fallon and make her his forever girl?

Keep is one of those stories that sucks you in right from the opening pages. Zane and Fallon are two characters that immediately stole my heart. I love that RVD didn’t rush the relationship of Zane and Fallon, but allowed readers to see that their friendship has depth and meaning. Their kisses meant something. And most importantly, Zane giving up his virginity was also an act of baring his soul, his past and his future with Fallon. It was an act that readers could honestly feel that this thing that Zane and Fallon have is more. It’s more than friendship. It’s more than love. It’s home.

So if you are looking for a story where friendship, banter, drama, and love are beautifully woven into the storyline then I suggest you read Keep. And if you need another reason to read this book, then I will give you 4 Marshmallow reasons. First, this book is sweet. Second, Zane and Fallon proves that love bounces back. No matter how you hard you squeeze it, a fluffy marshmallow bounces back. And whatever problems that Zane and Fallon faced, they just bounce back. Third, they make people smile. Why wouldn’t you smile when a rocker finds his inspiration in you. And lastly, marshmallows are great when they are hot. Like any s’mores, it’s those fiery bursts of romance and attraction that keeps Zane and Fallon’s love sticky as molasses or in this case sticky as marshmallows.
