The first few chapters were kind of slow and it started to pick up somewhere after chapter five. I love to settle down to a book which has romance and passion for it when it comes to which way the book is going to go and what is going to happen next, just makes you want to get to the bottom of all the chaos.
Chloe ran away and left his fiancé when she had cold feet. She was always told what to do. She's fed up with her mother demanding her of things she thinks that may be good for Chloe. Since she was a little girl, her mother always watches her figure. There's a lot of things she should eat and she couldn't do. Her mother always worried about what people might say if Chloe did something that could ruin their reputation. As for her father, he was and always had been the one to listen to what Chloe really needed in her life without thinking about what people may say if she decides to step down from the beauty pageant. I loved her father for being so caring and understanding. Letting her decide what future, she wants to pursue.

Lucas had his heart broken by his childhood fiancé. She left him at the altar with no clue as to what happened to her. Why she left. Lucas hates liars because of his past. He will not let anyone come close to him that is a liar. He struggled to forget his fiancé who wanted to be well known in Hollywood. But when that didn't turn out to be what she wanted, she came back and wanted Lucas to take her back. I just want to punch her in the face and put a sock in her mouth and tell her to leave Lucas to me. (Wink)
When Lucas and Chloe meet, they lock eyes through a mirror at a bar and could not forget that moment. From that moment on, they both could not stop thinking about each other. Lucas is the son of the Veterinarian. They are to help Chloe pursue her plans to rescue pit bulls. Lucas was told by his father that he will be helping Chloe at THE GANG, it's what her mentor named the animal shelter she opened in Monterey after leaving San Diego.
Chloe is keeping secret that could very well ruin this growing relationship she has going with Lucas. How long can she keep it from him? Will it ruin their relationship when the truth comes out? Only way to found out is to read this not too tamed love story.
