I can't recommend this highly enough!! This without a doubt one of the best book I have ever read. I have read almost all of Colleen Hoover's books and she just keeps pulling me in with every book she writes.
What would you do when two people you cared so much for rips your heart to shreds? Sydney finds out her best friend Tori, also her roommate to make matters worst (whose hair I wanted to pull) and her boyfriend Hunter had been having sex with no strings attached since before they even met and had been screwing behind her back. From the beginning I had a bad feeling about these two specially knowing the fact that they were friends before Hunter and Sydney were introduced. I felt this way because Tori is someone I wouldn't waste my breath on. Sidney, is a very independent 21 year old. Pays for her own school, works at the library as a librarian and a very simple, caring type of person. So with no place to live and no job to pay for her rent, what do you do? Take the first offer handed to you, ofcourse, when your so desperate.
Ridge and Sydney...how it all started...
Sydney...
Almost on cue, the sound of his guitar floats across the yard as I take a seat and lean back into the patio lounger. I tell Tori I come here to get homework done, because I don't want to admit that the guitar is the only reason I'm outside every night at eight, like clockwork.
For a few weeks now, the guy in the apartment across the courtyard has sat on his balcony and played for at least an hour. Every night, I sit outside and listen.
Ridge...
It's almost eight and I know she'll be in her balcony. I don't know how weird my actions are about to seem to her, but all I can do is try. I've got nothing to lose.
OMG, adding Ridge to my BBF list.(sigh, wink, panty drops) I loved everything about him. I fell in love with Ridge the minute I was introduced to him(winks) when he was out in his balcony playing his guitar. (heavy sigh) Just writing this review makes me blush. He works from home, writes lyrics for a band. He doesn't go anywhere without his cellphone, you'll know the reason why when you read the book because this is one of the most important part of the book that made me fall in love even with him even more. He has a girlfriend name Maggie. This is the part where it complicates things. The love triangle...
This book was a very deep, touching, realistic and no it's not the kind of book where the characters are screwing like bunnies type. It's the type of book that will touch you to the core. The whole time I was reading this book, I felt like I was sitting on the edge of my seat while tapping my feet and I felt so many emotions. This book deserves 10 stars, my opinion. A tear jerker BUT an HEA and is pretty much what I love to read. This is why I love New Adult books – the angst, that feeling that I get wondering what happens next. So I kept the big girl panties on and kept turning from page to page. And what I got was so much more than what I expected.
