Oliver is a four years older than Maya. He loves to dominate in bed. Sleeps with anyone who willingly offers. Loves to play it rough between the sheet and will leave you wanting more. He's one dirty mouthed guy and will not take any non-sense from anyone. He knows what he wants and nothing will get in the way of his needs.

Maya has had an obsession since the day she first laid eyes on her stepbrother, who's been nothing but an A-hole to her. Oliver knows just how to push her buttons. Her obsession has driven her mad that when she is with her boyfriend, she's fantasizing that she really is with her stepbrother. Oliver loves to taunt her, push her to her limits to annoy her and let her know that he hates her. Same goes with Maya, she pretends that she cannot stand him. When in reality, she wants him, no one else but OLIVER.
Maya and Oliver embark a lustful and chaotic life. They both denied what they truly feel, that feeling of emptiness. Knowing that deep down, what's right under their noses might just fill that hole in their hearts.

Monster Stepbrother was a book that had so much potential to be a dark taboo sexy read but this book sadly fell flat for me. I wanted to like this book a lot but I found myself not connecting to any of the characters. I love a good forbidden romance and as a big avid fan of dark romance, this book was lacking in the dark element that would pull me in. The hero, Oliver King was more like a wishy washy character who couldn't make up his mind..one minute he hates her, one minute he lusts for her, and then the next he loves her but has sex with another woman and leaves her. His constant mood-swings would give me a whiplash because one minute hes turning on the charm and making you like him and then the next, you are wondering why the sudden mood change.
Overall, this book was a quick read that had some great sexy scenes but I think I would have love to see more of a development of the characters and their past. A part of me wanted the author to delve deeper as the reasons why Maya and Oliver were drawn to each other not just that they were physically attracted to one another.
