A deeply emotional and heartbreaking story!! Silent Scars by Ada Frost was a beautiful gut wrenching story that took readers on a wave of emotions as a hero battles an internal war of guilt, loss, anger, and brokenness. The physical scars may be on the outside but his internal emotional scars of darkness are the ones that runs and cuts deep. It is those scars that shatters him leaving him to believe that there is nothing left of his heart and soul to be salvaged. So as you can see the hero, Ryan is a complex man whose emotions are a raging battle due to his childhood and past. He is a man who has experienced loss, heartache, anger, and hate. So can this man find the light and closure he needs to heal those scars? Does love really heal? Or is it an illusion?

Silent Scars was indeed a book on survival because Ms. Frost showcases a heartbreaking tale of a young man struggling to live with his past, present and future. Ryan's silence is deafening. His hurt, pain, and brokenness is a silence that will echo and travel far for readers as it consumes and grips your hearts. Ryan is a man who believes that he doesn't deserve love and as a reader my heart aches for him. His silence was the loudest cry. But that all changes when he meets Aloura. She is a woman who can see past all his demons, and see Ryan for who he is. I'm not saying that this journey of love was an easy task for Aloura because Ryan makes it a difficult, but through it all, Aloura was able to break down and shatter these walls. She was able to show Ryan her silent love for him was enough and that he indeed deserves to be loved. I think what drew me into this book was that Ms. Frost was able to show all facets of hurt, sadness, loneliness, and devastation. She pointed out to her readers to see beyond the physical outside appearance of a person but to really see a man battling an internal turmoil. And at the same time allow readers to go along Ryan and Aloura's journal of survival and finding light. So if you are looking for an emotional, heartbreaking angsty read then I would recommend Silent Scars by Ada Frost.
