I am a huge fan of second-chance romances. That is basically the only drama I can embrace with open arms. Then taboo relationships (office romances, student-teacher especially) and it doesn’t hurt if there’s a good age difference too. SSS is a good second-chance, “years after” love story.
Sweet Southern Sorrow, although overall short and a quick read, it still packs that “oomph!” that hits you in your heart. I sure felt it. Not even past 1% and I was crying, I did not expect that to happen at all. I know I expected this to be sweet and that I’ll love Sawyer, but I was not prepared to be crying at 2:30am! Tessa amazingly wrote Sawyer and Cheyenne’s story that makes me want for more. I want more.
Their story started one summer, both felt alone, quite lost, and they found each other. They found comfort, strength, company, and love. And then it ended because of rash decisions and well, because they’re both young and thought it was for the best. It was heartbreaking reading what led to their separation, but it was a sweet feeling when they found each other again.
(Maybe I should get a swallow tattoo, too? Hmm. That’s an idea.)
Sweet Southern Sorrow is a heartwarming read, it will make you smile, make you hurt, and will probably make you mad too. But most importantly, you’ll love Sawyer and you will root for his and Cheyenne’s love story!
Recommended to: Second-chance romance lovers like me. Wants a good, sweet read.
POV: First person. Dual POV.

EXTRA COMMENT: Tessa, can we have more Sawyer, PLEASE? -- Woohoo! now there’s more!
