One day, Jessica Charles was happily shopping in the streets in London and then the next she was left emotionally and physically bleeding in the streets. That tragic day was the day that Jessica Charles lost everything. Her freedom. Her happiness. Her heart. Her strength. So when your life flashes before your eyes and you were seconds away from dying, how do you go on? You breathe and try to live your life but it is easier said than done.

Keir McGregor is an ex-soldier, who suffers from PTSD. He knows what it is like to have your life ripped and taken away from you so soon. He knows pain, death, sadness and loneliness. His past and brokenness haunts him in a way that no one can understand that is until he met Jessica Charles. Meeting Jessica was not kismet or fate as he sought out Jessica since he feels partly to blame for what happened to her. So what happens when a broken soul meets another broken soul?

This connection between Keir and Jessica was everything. It was hope, love, forgiveness, honesty and peace all wrapped up into one. It is an indescribable bond that tethers and connects them in such a unique way. Keir and Jessica may have been existing but together they found a reason to breath and live. So if you are looking for a love story that was MORE THAN LOVE then I highly recommend you to read The Debt. Halle beautifully captured every facet of emotions and heart into this book so readers can truly FEEL the story of survival, hope, forgiveness, second chances and love.
