P.S. These “tings” took the story on a whole new level. Bravo T.M. Frazier for incorporating this into the story line!!! With that out of the way, let's proceed onto my review.
The Outskirts is a visceral and utterly gripping love story of the forgotten ones. With her raw and magnetic prose, Frazier ignites all the feels as she takes her readers on an emotional, palpable, and poignant journey of two broken lost souls. Two strangers. One collision. Two hearts intertwining. Two souls becoming one. Buried secrets that could ruin it all. And one outcome.

Freedom. It is the only thing that Sawyer Dixon wants. For twenty-one years, she has lived a life of obeying her father and the church. But when her mother died, Sawyer saw the opportunity to leave her old life behind and begin anew. When she discovers a box and letter left behind by her mother, Sawyer knew this was it. Her chance to escape her abusive and manipulative father. And so begins, Sawyer’s journey to The Outskirts.

The Outskirts is a small forgotten town that is just a vast land of swamps and abandoned houses. As Sawyer embarks on her new life, she runs into Finn Hollis, the boy that just wants to be left alone.
After a tragedy, Finn doesn’t care much for life. For two years, he was a wandering broken soul who felt he had nothing left to live for and so he escapes and buries his feelings in the swamp. But what Finn never expected was his new neighbor, Sawyer Dixon to ignite a new desire to live.

Sawyer is completely innocent and naive. Everything is new to her. Fashion, alcohol, getting a job, making friends and of course, relationships. On their first meeting, Finn and Sawyer didn’t get along at all. She tried to stay away from his moody personality but as neighbors, it was inevitable. Soon Finn finds himself being drawn to Sawyer’s innocence and personality.

As Finn begins to start a friendship with Sawyer, feelings begins to emerge. Feelings of want, desire, and love. Things that Finn never thought was possible until now. These feelings scares Finn to the core but losing Sawyer frightens him even more.

This love that Sawyer feels for Finn is something that she can’t describe. It was as if he was her soul mate. That missing piece to make her whole and alive. And the same could be said for Finn. But what happens when Finn’s discovers something about Sawyer’s past and her connection to the Outskirts? Can Finn help Sawyer or will Sawyer find herself drowning in the swamps as buried secrets could ruin everything she had known about herself?

T.M. Frazier took the concept of second chances onto a whole new level. A level of beauty, truth, understanding, and passion. Everything about Finn and Sawyer’s relationship and the bond that transpired between them was visceral. It was a force to be reckoned with. A collision that shook you to the core. It made a once broken heart to beat again. And a heart that never knew love to be loved. The writing was mesmerizing. Gripping. Spellbinding. It was brilliance and poetic sprinkled. As for the story line, it was Frazier’s attention to detail and her broken characters that made this emotional love story memorable. A must read for any one who ever felt lost, forgotten, and hopeless. Trust me when I tell you, Frazier takes romance on a whole new level where vulnerability and passion collide. A story that can not be forgotten.
