TOXIC!!! When we hear the word, toxic, automatically we associate it with danger and something we need to stay away from. But in Kim Karr's newest release there is nothing TOXIC about this book because I absolutely LOVE LOVE this book. More like dangerously intoxicated!!!
As one of my favorite authors, Kim Karr never fails to deliver an angsty romance that will keep readers like myself spellbinded and addicted. And in her newest release, Kim Karr has once again delivered a wickedly captivating read that weaves all the elements that I loved from drama, desire, love, friendship, steam, angst and of course my favorite trope of second chances. Intertwining these layers, Ms. Karr has flawlessly kept a story that truly depicted a passionate, intense, and sexy second chance romance that will showcase there was nothing toxic about true love, healing, and forgiveness.

Toxic was a second chance romance that had readers like myself slowly holding onto our breath as we are taken on an emotional journey that made you FEEL. Feel the heartache, the loss, the jealousy, the anger, and the hurt. But most importantly, FEEL the love and the mending of two hearts and souls.
Love can hurt sometimes but love can heal and mend your souls. Love is never easy so when you find love, it can either destroy you or make you feel ALIVE. Memories of love are like photographs that are forever etched in our heart, mind and soul so when you find a fierce and intense love, it can be something that you can't forget. And for Phoebe St. Claire, she had that kind of LOVE. A love that she will always compare to him. Him being Jeremy McQueen. So fast forward to several years, when she is reunited with Jeremy, it hits her hard. Floods of emotions, memories, and feelings begins to resurface igniting an intense raw connection. Although they have an intense passionate tangible connection, one thing that was toxic in their relationship was TRUST. So can Jeremy and Phoebe's relationship survive through a web of mistrust, secrets, family issues, and people trying to destroy them?

Toxic is definitely a book that will take you on an emotional roller-coaster. Though there were parts in the book that will frustrate you and make you want to slap these characters but at the same time, you couldn't help but FEEL the tangible and palpable love of Phoebe and Jeremy. It was raw, real, vulnerable, and heartfelt. As with any relationship, problems may arise. And for these two, the biggest toxic that plagues this couple is the issue of trust. And what I love about this book although it may be emotionally taxing, I loved how REAL it is as the same time. Toxic is one of those reads that can grip and shatter your heart at the same time, but the beauty of this book was that Ms. Karr slowly mended and pieced back the pieces. She made readers like myself see that love is about never letting go. Love is about overcoming hurdles. And most importantly, love is about trusting. So if you are a fan of second chance romance that weaves angst, drama, and steam then I would suggest you give TOXIC a try. My only warning is that once you read a KIM KARR book, prepare to get intoxicated with her sinfully and beautiful writing and story-telling.

Years past Jeremy’s back and wanting another chance, with hesitation she takes him back. They fall into their routine very quickly, but their past kept surfacing back, turning their love TOXIC. All the lies from their past kept getting in the way, secrets in their present lives are coming out..How can they completely love each other again, when there's so much they are hiding from each other?
This book is complete with lies, manipulation and greed., that Jeremy and Phoebe kept questioning if what they felt for each was even real. And it always went back to He Loves Me, He Loves Me Not. It was the questions that always kept replaying. For these two to truly love each, they had to grow up and learn how to trust each other. Their relationship was very much built on passion, lust and love. They are dirty talking lovers, who were very sex crazy. Jeremy was confusing at times, that you don’t know what his real motive really was. But everything fell into place in the end. This book will also take you on an emotional ride, but will keep you wanting more and root for the love that Jeremy and Phoebe deserved.
