Bitch. Slut. Villain. Evil. Manipulator. Spoiled. Rich girl. All these description are synonymous to the most hated person of the Rosemary Beach Series. Well guess what all you Nan haters out there, I f*cking love Nan and in true Abbi Glines’ fashion, she wrote a story that was raw, vulnerable, deep, and showed a whole new side to Nan.
I honestly was never a true Nan hater. I have always felt that she was misunderstood and just needed the right person to push her in the right direction. Nan is aware of her flaws and how bitchy and manipulative she can be. She doesn’t hide that side of her. She doesn’t want to be that way but she can’t help it.
As for what is there to expect with Nan’s story, I honestly don’t want to say anymore because there are a few surprises, twist and turns, and unexpected turn of events. Does Nan redeem herself? Yes. Does she get her chance at happily ever after? Yes. Will I tell you with who? No. But what I can tell is that Up In Flames is one of those stories where readers will see beyond the facade lies a young woman searching for her happily ever after. She may not be perfect but her imperfections makes her who she is. And it takes an imperfect person to see Nan’s imperfection as perfection for them.
All I can say Abbi Glines has perfectly orchestrated a story that was raw, heartfelt, and beautiful. Will our hearts be up in flames? Of course, Nan is a girl who will set ablaze and pull all the right strings to make us fall in love with her. And for some, love might not be the right word but we can all agree that Nan will be understood and possibly liked.
