☆ ☆ ☆☆ 4-4.5 Sweet Noah Stars ☆ ☆ ☆☆
In our darkest moments, we can lose sight of the light, hope and love that surrounds us. For some, a great loss, heartbreak and grief can tear and rip our life apart. At that moment, we can either give up, let go, or just carry on the burden. But what if, you are not strong enough to live? Who will save you?

In Kill Devil Hills by Sarah Darlington, loss, heartbreak, grief, death, hope, love, and a second chance at life are all explored. Ms. Darlington goes in depth with a sensitive subject of suicide but allows readers to see that the beauty of tomorrow is the chance of a second chance. A second chance for happiness. A second chance to love. And most importantly a second chance to LIVE.
Right off the bat, Ms. Darlington hit you with such an emotional gripping scene that affects Noah and Georgina. That night will forever be engrained with them. It not only changed them but also the lives of Georgina’s family. Fast forward to four months later, Georgina returns back home. This time she’s at a place in her life where she is beginning to heal and find closure. What Georgina didn’t expect was to fall in love with the man who saved her.

Noah is 24. Georgina is 18. Noah is her older sister’s best friend. The Turner family always have welcomed Noah into their family. Practically he was family. So what happens when Noah and Georgina finds solace, peace, and love in each other? Noah saved Georgina one time, will he be able to heal her broken heart and piece back all the brokenness?

Kill Devil Hills is one of those stories that kept me finishing this book in one sitting. It was sweet, beautiful, and touching. Our scars may not all be physical but emotional. Emotional scars are sometimes the deepest scars that cannot be seen. The beauty of Kill Devil Hills was that love heals. It had all the feels that made me enjoyed this book. I will definitely be looking forward to more works from Sarah Darlington.

This book started a with pain and suffering. Ellie and best friend Noah were having their regular drinking game in the family basement, something they do once a month. Noah had to use the restroom bad and Ellie had occupied the other, so he went upstairs. Instead of using the bathroom, he found Ellie’s younger sister Georgie with both her wrist cut and blood everywhere. Noah sobered up right away and took a hold of Georgie and saved her life the best he knew how. If it wasn’t for him, she would’ve died. Noah thought after saving her life, that was the last he would think of her and he was wrong.
After the incident Ellie stayed at a facility to get help with her suicidal tendencies, she was gone for 4 months. The whole time she was gone, all Noah could think about was…hoping that she was alright. At first he thought it was just him being protective, because of what happened…boy was he wrong again.

The story started out very sad and I cried ugly. Georgie was devastated when she lost her brother. I felt bad for her when she didn't know what to do or how to deal with the death of her brother who was closed to her. So, she decided to join her brother by doing something so scary and heartbreaking that when I was reading this part, I felt like I just crawled into the book and it was me who was experiencing this horrible part her life. I am close to my brother and I would not know what to do if it happened to me. This book touched me to the core because my brother and I have always done things together and I wouldn't know how to rise above it and stay strong. The story was so realistic and everyone can relate to her situation. This is one of the sweetest love story I have ever read and loved. Noah is officially added on to my book boyfriend list.
Georgie's tragic past was something not everyone will can easily forget. People just changed the way they looked at her. She's trying not to let her past define who she is but instead be strong and to keep her head up. With Noah and her entire family behind her she will eventually accept the fact that her brother is gone and will never come back. She also realized that she isn't the only one hurting and that helped her with the healing process.

Noah is Elle's best friend. These two are inseparable and since Elle only likes girls they have nothing to worry about, falling in love that is. Georgie said so herself. Noah always saw Georgie as a little sister but one morning everything changes for him. Loved how she was all he could think about. The chemistry between Georgie and Noah was ecstatic and undeniable. There were a few times when I would get all excited and start blushing because of the things Noah would do to Georgie.

The love they both have for each other was so realistic. Fighting the feelings they both have for each other was hard for the both of them. It's sort of a forbidden love for me and I loved it. Some parts where so innocent and some parts where just hot damn sexy.

This book tells the story of how reality would be dealt with for some people who cannot handle or be strong enough to lose someone forever. And don't ever think that what you are dealing with is the worst ever because remember, there's someone out there who is fighting for their lives to stay alive. Suicide isn't the way to go. Think of what and who you will be leaving behind. Do you really want them to go through that?
As for Noah and Georgie, they both have demons they are trying to fight along the way. Will their love for each other be strong enough to fight it to stay together? Well, you will have to read the book to find out. Awesome job, Sarah Darling. I cannot wait to read book #2.
