“All I need in this life of sin is me and my girlfriend.Down to ride 'til the very end, it's me and my boyfriend. All I need in this life of sin is me and my girlfriend.Down to ride 'til the very end, it's me and my boyfriend” ~Bonnie & Clyde Jay-Z

Ring the alarm because K. Webster will take her readers into the world of sex, drugs, crime, murder, revenge and gangstas. That’s right you are entering in the urban world where the laws of justice and love begins to get blurred when an undercover female cop not only stumbles in the world of drugs but into the arms of the second in command of the drug ring. In the law enforcement community, one takes a vow to serve and protect the community. So what happens when you are conflicted of doing what is right? Will love get in the way of doing your job? So what will it be...love or law?

Love and Law was a quick read that centers on a female cop, Maya Simpson as she works her way up in the ranks of the law enforcement. As a rising cop, she gets assigned to case to bring down the drug dealers that are invading the inner city of Detroit. This case means a lot to Maya as she witnessed her father murdered when she was 9 years old when he got involved with the wrong crowd selling drugs. Witnessing the man who murdered her father was forever ingrained in her mind. So when Maya goes undercover, she soon finds herself attracted to Ben, the second in command of the drug ring. So what happens when the good girl finds herself falling in love with the bad boy? Can Maya fulfill her job as a cop and take down the drug ring even if it means betraying Ben?

Overall, Love and Law was an enjoyable read. Right off the bat, you instantly saw the attraction that was brewing with Maya and Ben. Together these two had a sexual chemistry that was sizzling. There was no denying it that in the short amount of time, Maya and Ben soon found themselves in a world where there was no turning back. Maya was able to easily hide she was undercover but she couldn't hide the fact that she was falling in love with a criminal. What I love about this book was that K.Webster didn't have a perfect hero. There was no prince charming or knight in shining armor. Instead, K. Webster welcomed us to world of urban street love. A world where everyone is flawed and real. So if you are looking for a book where crime, passion, love, and justice are all incorporated then go read Law and Love. In the words of Jay-Z, “ All I need in this life of sin is me and my girlfriend.”
