There’s the saying that “Age is nothing, but a number”, which is what Jake and Paisley live by.
Love has no age, no limit; and no death. ~John Galsworthy
The first time Paisley and Jake met their attraction for each other was evident, but after Jake finds out that Paisley was only 16, he flipped out and back off…at least that what he wanted to believe.
Jake tried his hardest to stay away from Paisley, because he thought she was just way too young for him as a 20yr old man. As for Paisley, she tried to keep up with her tough chick act, but all it did was make Jake want her more. This dance they had didn’t last long, because they both surrendered to their feelings after Pailey challenge Jake.
“You are clueless, and your apparent obsession with me is getting old. S*** or get off the pot.”
Their first kiss was hot and sweet and it was where their love story began. After that kiss they were inseparable, they spent as much time as they could with the time Jake had.
Jake being in the Navy kept him away from Paisley a lot, but they made the best of the time they had together. Most of the time being together was tough. They went through up and downs in their relationship with insecurities and holding back feelings, they should’ve shared with each other. Paisley and Jake relationship was a roller coaster ride of emotions. Paisley always questioned herself if , “He loves me? He loves me not? “ and the same thing with Jake “She loves me? She loves me not”.
No matter what they went through, they always had so much love and passion for each other, but sometimes those weren’t enough.
The love they had for each when they were young was so intense, that it was too much for them. Which ended up splitting them apart at some point in their lives. When Paisley left Jake when they were young, for their final goodbye..I almost bawled. Just thinking about that part of the book, makes me want to cry. Their split was so emotional, it hurt me just to read it.
There were times in the book, when I wanted to smack both of them and wished I could have. The times when they were apart for a long amount of time, could have been stopped all together if they just communicated more. All the times they were hurting also hurt me. I wanted for them to get back and run to each others arms so bad, but I understood how time apart helps people grow and that’s what they needed.
As you all know Author Leigh Ann Lunsford loves ending with HEA and I love her for that.
If you want to read a beautiful love story and have a bunch of ugly cry in between, you definitely need to pick this up and read asap. Don’t miss out. This story is beautiful and heartwarming, how all love stories should be. I love the Parker Sibling Series, but I think this book is Mrs Lunsford best. I can’t wait to find out what her next project will be. <3
