Callie Hart is one of those authors who can easily hold her readers hostage with her gritty and suspenseful prose. And in this third installment to the Dead Man’s Ink Series, Ms. Hart delivers a gritty, violent, raw, and wildly sexy romance that will have readers holding onto their breath as we are thrown once again in a whirlwind of duplicity, violence, death, and a war brewing between cartels and a MC.



Ransom picks off where it last left off in Rogue and this time death and war comes knocking on the door of Rebel, Sophia, and The Widow Makers MC gang. For six months, Sophia has lived, breathed, and integrated herself into the life of the club and most importantly into Rebel’s heart. There is nothing that Rebel wouldn’t do to protect Sophia and even if it means going to hell and back and killing any man that would inflict any harm on his woman. And so when Rebel and Cade learns that Hector has kidnapped Sophia’s dad and is holding him hostage in exchange for Sophia, Rebel knows that his biggest challenge is yet to come. And most importantly, war has been declared and this time Rebel has set his sights on Hector.

“He could really hurt me if he wanted to, and something about that knowledge tips me over the edge every time. I know with every molecule of my body that he never would hurt me. He makes threats and sometimes even promises, but it’s all bullshit. Under no circumstances would he ever do anything I didn’t want him to do, especially if it might cause me harm.”

Sophia never thought she would live this life. This wasn’t even suppose to be her life. But the funny thing with life, plans may change. The unexpected may happen. And for Alexis, she changed the moment she witnessed a murder and was rescued by Rebel. Alexis changed the moment she became Sophia, the newest prospect of The Widow Makers and most importantly as Rebel's other half. In embracing Rebel’s life, she knows that there was no turning back. And so when she was made aware that her father is being held captive, she makes it known to Rebel that he must rescue her father for her. And so begins the dangerous journey of Rebel, Sophia and his men rescuing Sophia’s dad and taking down one of the most powerful Mexican cartel. Will Rebel be able to fulfill his promise in rescuing her dad? Or will Hector outwit Rebel?



Ransom was truly one high-octane sexy suspenseful dark gritty romance. Ms. Hart didn’t hold anything back in this third installment. If you want violence, revenge, chicanery, and duplicity then this book had it all. So if are dying to know if Rebel and Sophia get their happily ever after then I guess you have to one-click to find out. But one thing, I can tell you is to prepare yourself for a story that will hold you hostage and have you begging Callie Hart for more of this series.
