Reclaiming the Sand by A. Meredith Walters was simply breathtakingly beautiful and captivating. This book captured my heart, soul, and render me speechless. From the prologue to the very last page, this book had me glued to my kindle and left me a beautiful mess. Truly there aren’t enough words to express the emotional and beautiful journey this book takes you on. It was a journey that everyone should experience. The raw emotional connection of the hero and heroine was a bond that transcends like no other. Every action and words expressed was like literary poetry that will steal your heart and tug on all the emotions.
Flynn Hendrick 100% stole my heart. He is unlike any hero that I have read. The thing is Flynn Hendrick has Asperger’s Syndrome. So when Flynn moves to a new school and town, he is harassed and bullied. Flynn getting bullied devastated and broke my heart. Literally, I just want to give him a hug and tell those bullies to fuck off. One of the bullies happens to be the heroine, Ellie McCallum. Ellie, is one of those heroine you had to understand because she is not perfect. She made choices that were cruel and at the same time you had to understand her past. Flynn and Ellie had such a strong connection. For Flynn, Ellie was his friend but when in public, Ellie would be cruel and mean. There were two sides to Ellie: the bully and the friend.

Six years later, call it fate or whatever Flynn re-emerges back into Ellie’s life. Past mistakes and hurt couldn’t be undone. And Ellie was at a stage in her life, where she knew the only person who truly made her feel was Flynn. He made her feel important. He forgave easily. He owned her heart. He was her true friend. The connection between Ellie and Flynn was a bond that can’t be explained. It was like an invisible thread connected them. A bond so real that it had no words and could only be felt. As Ellie and Flynn reconnects their relationship, this couple had to endure and overcome an ongoing of issue of BULLYING of small minded people and a painful past. Can two disconnected people find love and home in each other?

Reclaiming the Sand is hands down one of those books that I can happily add to my top favorites of 2014. It was emotional, beautiful, heartbreaking, touching, poignant, and thought-provoking. A. Meredith Walters took her readers on emotional journey that will gut your heart but at the same time leave you speechless on how powerful love, forgiveness, acceptance, and respect is. This is no ordinary love story. It is a story of how love transcends all odds. Forgiveness and acceptance is key. Respect is a must. Life is not perfect. And like life, love is not easy but it must be fought. In this case, Flynn and Ellie’s journey of friendship to lovers is one memorable tale that is unforgettable. Reclaiming the Sand will steal your heart. The writing is phenomenal. And this book will leave you breathless. Though this book broke my heart, the pain was so worth it. And I highly recommend you to go read this book and have tissues on standby.
