In this second installment readers are reunited with Zeth, Sloane, Michael, Mason and Millie. Is there a moment of peace when it comes to Zeth, absolutely not. And so in this book, Callie Hart delivers a story of epic proportions that was layered with a multitude of depth, vulnerability, love, and of course Hart’s stamp of grittiness and danger. While this book mainly focuses on Mason and Millie, Hart perfectly weaves Zeth and Sloane into the story line allowing readers to be reunited with the man who has the power to kill and the woman he loves whose compassion is his salvation.

Mason is one of those characters who catches you off guard as he slowly warms his way into your heart. His love for his sister, Millie is a connection that strips you bare as you see the love and sacrifice Mason endures for her. It is heartbreaking. It is inspiring. It is raw. It is love.
In the backdrops of Mason and Millie drama, Zeth Mayfair and Sloane Romera are the center focus. They are that book couple who you love fiercely. Their love and connection is something that can’t be explained in a few words but is experienced through the many ups and downs they face. Their love consumes and holds you hostage so there is no looking away when it comes Zeth and Sloane. As Zeth tries to start his new life with Sloane, his past comes back with a vengeance. Like a bullet looking for it’s aim, Detective Lowell and the Italian mafia have set their sight on one target. Zeth Mayfair. And for Zeth Mayfair, the only thing that needs to be asked: How will he respond?

Savage Things is a culmination of blood, death, violence, passion, sacrifice and love. As Callie Hart masterfully weaves these elements into the story line, she allows her readers to see the bigger picture of destruction and the vulnerability each character faces. Sloane Romero may be Zeth Mayfair’s angry girl but she is more than that. She is his lover. She is his hope. She is his beginning. And she is his end. As Zeth Mayfair comes to this realization, how far will he go to protect his angry girl? And when danger comes knocking on Zeth’s door, you better be prepared for his wrath because this king does not fuck around.

Pardon my language but Callie Hart does not fuck around when it comes Zeth Mayfair, Sloane Romero and Mason. She has this uncanny ability to write a story that is heartbreaking, consuming, gritty and bold. With her raw prose, be prepared to get sucked into the world of Zeth Mayfair. Did this book make me want more of Zeth? Absolutely, and of course Callie has me begging for more of Zeth and Mason also.
