A Midsummer Night's Fling by Eliza Walker is a fresh, modern story that was sexy, angsty, sweet, and had the strong raw emotional pull to keep readers like myself entertained. Though this book started off a bit slow in the beginning, I did find the story line to begin to pick up when Ms. Walker slowly added depth and a bit of drama to spice things up between the hero and heroine. In homage to Shakespeare, the drama was the driving force in what made A Midsummer Night's Fling so entertaining.

This book explored the depths, vulnerability and self-discovery as Nicola and Max discover that romance is not dead especially when it comes to them. As their past collides the present moment, they will soon discover that nothing about them is a midsummer night's fling. So in the words of Shakespeare, “The course of true love never did run smooth” and so will Nicola and Max find that to be true?
Eliza Walker did an amazing job with this smart, sexy and sophisticated romance as she allowed readers to really see, feel, and understand her characters and the journey they go to. So if you are looking for a story where Shakespeare is thrown into the mix then I would definitely give this book a try.
