Why Lie? There is no need to lie when it comes to reading a love story from Carey Heywood. So here’s the truth.. Carey Heywood wrote a deep visceral touching love story that will strip readers bare as they absorb and feel the love, truth and honesty between two lovers. So why lie when it comes to real love?

Why Lie? is the second installment of the Love Riddles Series that can be read as a standalone since it focuses on a particular couple. In this book, readers are introduced to Heath and Sydney who share this week long fling no strings attached. Sydney begins to think that this thing between her and Heath could possibly lead to something more that is until she discovers that Heath proposed to someone else. Brokenhearted and upset, Sydney goes away to regroup herself.

As much as we hate to see Sydney upset, there are two sides of the story. Hers. His. And for Heath, his momentary lapse in judgement to propose to his friend was because he was dealing with some family issues and so he thought proposing to his friend would help ease his parents worry that he will end up alone. But the truth of the matter, Heath had to end his spur of the moment engagement because there is only one person that truly made him feel alive. Sydney.

As Heath tries to win back the girl that got away from him, Sydney begins to see a whole new side to Heath. She sees his brokenness, sadness, and his undying love for his family. She also sees a man that makes her feel alive and loved. Together, they fit. As they try to navigate and work on their relationship, there is no denying this tangible connection that they share. Will Sydney finally admit the truth that she loves and forgives Heath? Or will she continue to lie to herself?

Why Lie? by Carey Heywood is an emotional, raw, and passionate love story that will awaken all your senses. Heywood did a fabulous job showcasing every facets of hurt, pain, loss, forgiveness, friendship and loss. So if you are looking for beautiful well written love story that was sticky as molasses and heartfelt then I highly recommend you to read Why Lie?
