Asking For It by Lilah Pace was unlike any book that I have read. Consuming, hypnotic, thought-provoking, erotic, sensual and a slow burn emotional heart-tugging read that will push the boundaries. It was such a mind-blowing read that had me craving, wanting, and needing more. This book dealt with a dark, raw sexual matter that Ms. Pace eloquently and beautiful written. The fantasy to be raped.

Though this book might not be a book for most readers but the way Ms. Pace written and told the story was done brilliantly. The author not only pushed our sexual boundaries with these characters but she was able to interweave a slow burn story filled with so many raw emotions and vulnerabilities. Asking For It is one of those stories that was told at an excellent pace for the readers. This book was able to capture a raw pure uninhibited dark sexual fantasy that both Vivienne Charles and Jonah Marks needed, craved, and wanted. A secret consensual relationship where two of them can act out their fantasies without hurting others. In such a spellbinding read, I was able to get lost in with these characters as they battle their needs, desires, secrets and past.

Asking For It can be simply be summed up as CONSUMING. Ms. Pace is a master storyteller who was able to handle and write a tough subject with such sensitivity. She gave readers a better understanding of who Vivienne and Jonah are and why their fantasies comes from such a dark place. This book was indeed dark, gritty, raw, and erotic but it was also beautiful, emotional, touching, and promising. I went into thinking that this book would simply be a standalone but I am so relieved that there is a next book because in truth, the story of Vivienne and Jonah cannot be simply told in one book. Their story is a relationship built on layers. And slowly and very delicately, Ms. Pace will unravel and expose those layers allowing the readers to get to the real of heart of the matter. She will indeed have us begging for it.
So if you are looking for a book that was tangible, palpable, and hypnotic then I highly recommend you to read Asking For It. Be prepared to get lost in a story filled with characters that are so complex and yet leaves you emotionally raw.
