In K. Webster’s wicked and twisted mind, she has once again delivered an epic mind-blowing, heart-pounding, dark, raw, gritty, devious and calculating romance that pushes boundaries. This is not a fairytale romance. There is no knight in shining armor. There is only darkness, torment, cruelty, and little hope. There is Hell where monsters exist. And then there is WAR.

K.Webster is well aware that I am such a BIG fan of her dark romance. I have always told her this trope is made for her because she is one of few dark romance authors who knows how to keep her readers hostage. She will f*ck with your mind in such a way that you will BEG for more and trust me she has left me begging for more.

Baylee is a normal seventeen year old girl, who has a boyfriend that she loves and adores. Her life was simple and easy-going with her two loving parents. She has an overbearing and protective father and a mother, who is deeply ill and in need of a transplant. Besides worrying about her mother, Baylee is a normal teen that is until she is taken from her home. Everything that she loved and cherished were ripped out under from her. And soon Baylee finds herself kidnapped and taken captive by a family friend that she trusted.

The Baylee now is ruined. A prison. A victim. An object used for personal enjoyment. Baylee’s life now belongs to a monster who will sell her to the highest bidder.

Sold like a cattle on the market, Baylee finds herself with a new owner and his name is War. But unlike the other man who took Baylee, War is different. He is odd and has these strange OCD habits and thoughts. War wants Baylee. He wants to keep her forever. He wants her companionship. Her touch. Her presence. Her calming nature to balance him out. As Baylee learns to trust and begin to love War, what happens when she discovers there is another monster lurking around who wants to bring her back into the darkness? Will Baylee be able to survive the abuse from her former owner or will it be too late for War to rescue her? Can Baylee outsmart her captor?

This is War, Baby can only be summed up as PHENOMENAL!!! This book. This author. These characters. This storyline. This is what dark romantic suspense is supposed to be. And K.Webster proved to her loyal dark romantic fans that she will outsmart and outplay each and every one of us as she keeps us guessing what is her next move. All I can say is that This is War, Baby is a masterfully crafted and wicked read. It is dark, raw, gritty, suspenseful, consuming and yet delivers that subtle undertone of love. I’m not saying it is a perfect love but the hint of raw emotions and tender moments are beautifully scattered into the story that makes you want to declare War. So if you are looking for a book that is dark and twisted, look no further than this book. K. Webster, we are nothing but a pawn in this wicked story you have orchestrate and so please hurry up with the next book or else I would have to declare WAR on you.
