The Exposure by Tara Sue Me is the ninth installment of The Submissive Series and can most definitely be read as a standalone since this book focuses on a new couple. Tara Sue Me delicately exposes the underlying deep emotional and physical connection that reunites two former lovers. While this book is high in the erotic undertones, Tara Sue Me does something that she hasn’t done before in the previous books of this series as she interlaces a bit of suspense into the mix.

Meagan Bishop is a former model who gave up that lucrative career when her disastrous relationship with a photographer left her heartbroken. So when Luke appears back in Meagan’s life asking her to be his muse for an erotic photo book, Meagan is reluctant since this is the man who broke her heart sixteen years ago. But when a threatening email blackmails Meagan into getting dirt on Luke, she is then forced to take on Luke’s offer. Wanting to keep her past and the secrets buried, Meagan is thrown into a whirlwind as she tries to comply with the blackmailer and at the same time keep her emotion in check when it comes to Luke.

Several years have past when Luke knew that he shattered Meagan’s heart. After so many years have passed, Meagan was someone that he could not forget. Her taste. Her kiss. Her memory. Her touch. Her image. These were forever ingrained in Luke and so it was inevitable for these to finally cross that line. The BDSM lifestyle is something that both Meagan and Luke enjoy and soon these two will discover that mixing sex, pleasure, and feelings was going to expose the truth. The truth that this thing between them is something that cannot be denied. But what happens when Luke learns of Meagan’s secrets? Will Meagan continue to be the puppet of her blackmailer? Or will she be willing to let the truth be exposed?

As much as I loved this series, I have to say that Meagan and Luke are my least favorite couple of this series. Don’t get me wrong, I enjoyed The Exposure but I found it to be a tad slow for my taste as compared to the previous book. But other than that, I still enjoyed this book as Tara Sue Me does what she does best. She eloquently and sophisticatedly weaves erotic romance with raw emotions. So if you are looking for a story that is an erotic romantic suspense then this book might be for you.
