☆☆☆☆ 4.5 Stars ☆☆☆☆

The Glittering Court was slowburn, but consuming. A whole new story that’s so unique on it’s own. Richelle Mead had a way with her words that pulls you in with her every word. The book may be long, but I was addicted to the story of the Glittering Court. Most of all I was addicted to the love story that is Cedric and Adelaide. The longing looks, the hot, but sweet kisses and the love they had for each other. Historical romance may not be my favorite read, but this story definitely had me hooked.

It’s so easy to be pulled into the story with such strong characters. Adelaide was such a courageous, strong heroine, you can’t help but love her. She left everything she had ever known to pursue a life she thought that would be better for her. She didn’t care that she wasn’t going to live her privilege life any longer, she wanted her freedom, she wanted to be the person she was meant to be. Being in the Glittering Court was not easy, but Adelaide gained friends, friends she never had in her former life. The story definitely got more interesting when Cedric and Adelaide showed interest towards each other. They were what made the The Glittering Court a book to love. Cedric and Adelaide were sweet and so in love. These two would give up everything and anything for each other. Their love was beautiful, all the trials these two had to go through was hard and full of heartaches, but was all worth it in the end.

The story was full of surprises and adventure until the end. This story does not end in a cliffhanger, it gives the ending that the two main characters deserved, but leaves some story lines open for future books. I love the way the story ended, it shows that love does conquer all. I wasn’t sure that I would even like this story when I started, but I ended up loving it when I was done. <3

The Beauty Queen of Jerusalem by Sarit Yishai-Levi is a spellbinding read that sweeps readers to be mesmerized in a story that binds four generations of women together. In this breathtaking tale, Sarit Yishai-Levi transports readers to a time where the past and present collide and a mother and daughter’s relationship are tested as they face a series of trials and tribulations.

In this intricate and beautiful tale that brings four generations of women together, Sarit brings forth a compelling and thought-provoking story. She allows her readers to embrace and feel for her complex characters. One of my favorite things about reading historicals is that readers are transported back into a time period, and in the case for this book, readers are placed in the backdrops of Jerusalem where you are consumed with the sight and sounds, or the political upheavals during that time. And in The Beauty Queen of Jerusalem, readers are taken on a journey where a young daughter pieces together her family history and comes to term with the startling revelations of why the generation of women in her family act the way they do.

The Beauty Queen of Jerusalem is one of those reads that leaves you captivated. This book is rich with passion, sensuality, secrets, and history. In this intricate tale where past and present collide, Sarit Yishai-Levi will douse her readers with an abundance of raw emotions. Be prepared to get dazzled, haunted, and breathless as this book packs a punch of depth and honesty.
