If there is one thing that I try to avoid are stories dealing with love triangles and for some reason, I was drawn to the story of Luka by Jane Harvey-Berrick simply because I am such a huge fan of this author.
“Love hurt. Love flayed you raw and left your skin hanging from your body in bloody strips. It left you branded and burned. Ultimately, love was the worst thing that could happen to a human being. In my opinion.”
The story of Luka is a complex emotional story of drama, love, and self-discovery. For some reason, I don’t have the right words to write this review but what I can tell you is that Luka is someone who will make your heart ache and at the same time someone you will love. Luka is bisexual. But being bisexual is not the issue in this book, it is about loving two people. A man and a woman. And they happen to be siblings. But what happens when the people you love destroys you? Can Luka find the rhythm to happiness?
All I can say is that Luka will grip you to the core as your heart will burst with a magnitude of raw emotions as you are immersed into the life of Luka. Love can be hateful. Love can destroy. But the beauty of love is that it can heal. And so in this heartbreaking story, Luka will rediscover the man that he is. Learn to accept his imperfections and mistakes. And most importantly, find the rhythm of his heart. So if you are looking for a story that was hypnotic, captivating, and utterly heartrendingly beautiful and poignant, then I urge you to fall in love Luka and become slave to the rhythm.
