River Sage doesn't sugarcoat her books which I find refreshing. I love that she never fails to weave raw, gritty, emotionally driven and romance into her books. And in her newest release, Desertion, she brought those elements and so much more in the story of Jesse and Bell.

Jesse Carter was a former firefighter and marine and now a member of the Knights Rebel MC. His past in the military haunts him after losing his brothers in the field. Suffering from PTSD, the only way he escapes his demons is through alcohol and women.
Bell also known as Nurse Bell is as innocent as they come. She is a 23 year virgin, who seeks out to find out what happened to her sister Paige when she went missing six years ago. After her sister went missing, Paige's mom went overboard in sheltering Bell causing her to practically live in a plastic bubble. A part of Bell understand her parents since she knows losing her sister is not easy on them but a part of her wants to live. So when Bell approaches Jesse to help her solve and find out what happen to Paige, she never expected that she will fall deep for Jesse. And soon Jesse and Bell finds themselves entangled in a heated sexual relationship? Will Bell be the one to help Jesse face his inner demons? And will Jesse be able to help find closure for Bell and her family?
Desertion was a well written story that captures pure raw passion and emotions. River Savage truly engages her readers to feel for her characters whether it be anger, hurt, jealousy, heartbreak, loss or love. All I can say Desertion was another great installment to this series.
