☆☆☆☆ 4 Wildcard Stars ☆☆☆☆

Right off the opening page, we pick off where we last left off in Volume 1. Ryder is back in the States and is pissed off to see that Scarlett is with another man. Who is this mystery man? Hurt and angry, Ryder tries to forget Scarlett but just couldn't do it. When Scarlett shows up on his doorstep, he couldn't deny his longing for her. Truths of who that man is revealed. But as Scarlett and Ryder begins this uncharted new territory of their relationship, past secrets Scarlett tried hard to forget and keep hidden soon begins to surface. What secrets will Ryder unravel?

Match point for Missy Johnson!! She has done it again and left her readers begging for more after reading Wildcard Volume 2. In this second installment, questions of who the mystery man is are answered. But of course, Missy had to tease her readers with another cliffhanger ending begging the question what is Scarlett hiding? I can't wait for the third and final volume of this series.

Scarlett and Ryder's story continues...it keeps on getting more and more chaotic. Ryder decided to go to the US to visit Scarlett and when he stood in front of her doorstep, he started to rethink the reasons why he never did relationships. Committing means it could cause heartbreak and taking risks. I guess he just didn't see that one coming when he saw someones hand all over Scarlett when she opened her front door. Well, sometimes KARMA's just out there to find you without even knowing it's about to slap you in the face. All the sleeping around he's done, now it's catching up to him.

 photo wc2_zpsbde820b2.jpg

Scarlett has a secret that she can't seem to shake off. Her son's father is blackmailing her for something, but no one knows what it is. Ryder would like to know because he can tell it's weighing her down. Scarlett is starting to fall for Ryder but she doesn't want to get him involved with all the turmoil in her life, caused by her son's father. BUT Ryder is already involved and he makes it his mission to help Scarlett. Sometimes when you're told not to dig and get involved into someone's business, you just can't stay away. You care about the special someone whom you know is struggling with all the baggage and seems like that person needs help. So, what do you do? You help, even knowing for a fact that no one ever asked you for help. It's just how it is when you care for someone so much that you just want to take care of them, to go out of your way. I'm just worried about the outcome.

 photo wc2-3_zps63915082.jpg

Ryder is on a mission and he will stop at nothing just to get rid of this loser ex boyfriend of Scarlett. He is asking someone for help, someone he had slept with and he's not sure it's a good idea, but anything that could help Scarlett, he will take. He just hopes that it doesn't bite him in the ass in the end.

Scarlett and Ryder is starting to get close but they are both scared to pursue this relationship they have. I love how Ryder tried to forget Scarlett by trying to get intimate with some random chick but all he had in his mind while this random chick was pleasuring was Scarlett. He just could not get her out of his mind and same goes with Scarlett. But will they both hold on to the relationship they are trying to have with all the problems surrounding them? Only one way to find out, read the book. I can't wait for volume 3 to release. Missy, I will say it again, you had me on the edge of my seat in volume 1 and even worst in volume 2. I'm so anxious to find out what happens in volume 3. Ryder and Scarlett you've wormed your way into my heart and I want more.

Another sexy book by Missy.

After reading Volume 1 of WildCard I hated Scarlett by the time it ended. I wanted to put a smack down on her for hurting Ryder, but after reading Volume 2 my feelings about her changed. Now I feel bad for Scarlett for having to deal with a person like Tony. Tony is a heartless son of a b****. What kind of person puts someone he said he loved through the most of awful things? Even threatening to hurt his own son, if he had to.
Picture
Through it all I love Ryder’s character more and more. The changed that he goes through, because of Scarlett is amazing. He hasn't only started to show he has a heart, but he showed that he can also fall in love and that he is no longer the a** he was. I love how protective he is of Scarlett, even putting his own safety aside to keep her safe.

This 2nd volume ends with another cliffhanger, but not as bad as the 1st. At least on this one you know where they stood with each other. I cannot wait to read the last volume, to read Scarlett’s and Ryder’s hopefully Happy Ending.

☆☆☆☆ 4 Bad Boy of Tennis Stars ☆☆☆☆

WILDCARD

How could you not read this book? When I read the blurb, all I saw was Hot, British, Bad Boy of Tennis, and womanizer and I was SOLD!! Also, this is a Missy Johnson book and of course I had to read it.

WILDCARD_1

Wildcard is the first volume of a three part series. It introduces us to Ryder Stevens, the hot British bad boy of tennis. He has it all from money, fame and countless ends of women lining up. The world is his oyster. But for Ryder, the game of tennis is no longer fun when you always win. He needs the thrill of being spontaneous and the edge. So when an unfortunate "hot tub" accident occurs, Ryder is put on the sidelines. Battered ego and put on bed rest, he has all the time in the world and so what does a celebrity do? Well, he answers fan mail or in his case "I don't like you mail." What!! Someone doesn't like Ryder Stevens!!! So what does Ryder do? I guess you have to go read Wildcard and find out who is the lucky lady that got this bad boy hot and bothered.

How fitting that I read Wildcard when the US Open tournament is taking place. All I can say is Missy Johnson, I need to know what happens next to Ryder!! I can't wait for volume 2.

Wildcard is a short, but hot read. This is about a British Pro Tennis Player finds his way of life. His hot, single and a manwhore. He starts up just enjoying life of being the top tennis player. He has money and can get any woman he wants, at any given time. Sometimes even a few women at a time. Until one clumsy night on one of his orgies, Ryder slipped and hurt his back. Which put him out of commission for a few weeks.

Picture
With time on his hands, he brings home some fan mail and went through it. Everything was boring and almost the same, until he read a letter from a 7yr old boy about his disappointment in him. A letter that made him realize what kind of jackass he has been. Being thought of so little by a kid, bothered him a lot. So he did everything in his power to try to reach out to the boy and win him over. Calling for the 7yr with explanation on why he wants to talk to him, didn’t get him anywhere. The mom wasn’t having any of it. Until the phone calls became regular, then flirting and banters between Ryder and Scarlett became their norm.

After finding out what was wrong with the boy he offered an all expense paid trip to help out. Which gave him time to spend and get to know Scarlett more. The more time they spent together the more he wanted her for something more than a one time lay. Ryder couldn’t believe what he was feeling for Scarlett, but does Scarlett feel the same? Or is she just using him to pass her time?

I cannot wait to read the second book, I was left with a big WTF moment that made me feel like slapping the hell out of Scarlett. Ryder started out a little rough being a manwhore and all, but he won me over quick.

GUEST REVIEWER: TORI

Missy Johnson did her job well. She made me like and even feel so bad for Ryder Stevens. Ryder is at the top of his game. A tennis champion. He's cocky, confident, gorgeous and a serious player. You know the kind, new girl or girls everyday. Ryder is definitely not opposed to many girls at once. Tennis comes so easy to him it's just something he does Not something he loves. Due to an accident ( a hilarious mishap) Ryder is on the sidelines until he mends. Boredom leads to a friendship he didn't see coming. Book ends with a nice juicy cliffhanger. Great job Missy Johnson. You have me just dying for Sept 22 for book 2.

Can't wait for book #2! I need to start this review about the end of book #1. Fantastic cliffhanger! It is a WTF moment that will have you begging for the next book! This is a short book but MIssy Johnson does a great job introducing you to characters you fall in love with! How can you resist a playboy tennis star, a loving mom to a young boy with health issues? Through 98% of this book you believe this is a sexy star who whores himself around, falls for a beautiful mom and her son and learns how to love and then that pretty picture is ripped in half!

☆☆☆☆☆ 5 AMAZING DREW ☆☆☆☆☆

Can a sweet jock get a sassy redhead to fall in love?

That’s what this book is about. Drew the superstar of the school, everyone knew him and he is the best Quarterback anyone could ask for and then there’s regular redhead girl Anna. From the first time Drew laid eyes on Anna, he had to have her. Anna felt the same about Drew, the electricity between them was undeniable. When one comes in the room, if it’s Drew or Anna they just knew. They felt a pull to look where the other one is walking in. They couldn’t explain it, but they knew it meant something.

The first day in class together, Drew introduced himself. For some reason, when it came to Anna he didn’t know how to speak and he said stupidest things. That first time he spoke to her, he called her BIG READ. She was not fond of that at all and she snapped at him the minute he said it. He apologized, but she wasn’t having any of it. Ana was a little bigger in high school and no one even looked her way, not until college. Her mom called her a late bloomer. So having something like that coming out of Drew’s mouth, put him on her s*** list.
Picture
Drew had his eyes on his prize, so he didn’t give up. Everytime he sees her, he apologizes and that was never enough for her, that’s what she thought anyway. She kept brushing him off, until that one drunken night. They couldn’t keep their hand off each other, they had sex in a darken room on the couch while a party was going on downstairs. It was hot, but Anna regretted it right away. Once Anna realized what she did, she left Drew, but Drew never forgot. To him that was the best sex and night he ever had and didn’t understand why she just went up and left him.

The next time they saw each other ,was in the library and once again they hooked up. Hot library sex. Then Anna left Drew once again, trying to pick himself up after a hot hook up. He couldn’t understand why she kept leaving him, so he tried to figure her out. This hook up became regular, but each time they got together, they shared part of themselves to each other more and more. For some reason Anna won’t let Drew kiss her on her lips, she thought it was too personal and Drew craved for it. He also confessed that he's not at all a Hook Up kind of guy, but if that’s all he can have with her it’s ok with it… for now.
Picture
Drew was falling in love, the more he got to know Anna and she was feeling the same. Instead of enjoying the love that Drew was giving her, Anna ran scared and ripped Drew’s heart out. She didn’t mean to hurt him, but she didn’t do relationships. She broke Drew, before he could have a chance to break her. That was her excuse for leaving again, but was it the right thing to do?

Will Anna ever find herself and stop being scared of falling in love?
Or will she let yummy and sweet Drew walk out of her life completely?
Read and find out.

Drew added to my hot book boyfriend list, check. <3
I love this book, stayed up all night to finish the book. I just could not put it down. Drew is super sweet and I just love him.

I cannot wait to read book 2 about Drew’s best friend Gray, the man whore. lol.

Drew Baylor is the hot and an awesome quarterback. It was a crazy attraction that he felt and pulled him to Anna Jones and vise versa. Their chemistry was seeping through their skins. It was like an uncontrollable explosion. And what's weird about these two is that when either one of them walk in a room their in, without even looking, they both know that it's either one of them.

 photo Drewshwr_zpsf56db16e.jpg

Drew has staring problems, he just cannot contain the attraction he feels for Anna. He felt very incoherent the first time he introduced himself to her. Didn't really know what to say to her so he the name BIG READ just came out of his mouth without meaning to and that made Anna mad. Having a history of being a little big in high school, that really pissed her off. Drew is sort of obsessed with Anna in a way...he just can't fight the pull it's doing to him. He follows her after class and follows her to the food court, yeah stalker-ish.(winks)

 photo TheHookUp1_zpsd08cb76d.jpg

Drew doesn't care if all Anna is willing to give him is the hook ups, just sex no strings attached. If that's all he can get then so be it. He'll taking anything, just she can give. I wanted to pull and slap her to knock some sense into her. Knowing that the pain they both had to go through when it came to their families, I just wanted to hug them both. I want them both to have their happily ever after. Will Anna finally give in the urge that she so painfully denies to give into? Will Drew get tired of waiting for Anna to finally make up her mind on whether to give in and give this relationship a chance or will he just keep taking what Anna can give him? You'll have to read to find out. I fell in love with Drew from the beginning to the end.
Amazing job Ms. Kristen.

Just like the first book Falling for Bentley, I was hooked as soon as I started the reading. Yes the 2nd book is not as good as the first, but I still enjoyed it.

In this sequel Haley and Bentley goes through emotions. First it’s Bentley figuring out what he really wants for his life and finding out why he did what he did with Haley. With the help of his friends and family, Bentley figured out what path to take and that path pointed him towards Haley. Haley, the woman he will do anything to get her back.

After being apart for about 3 months, the first meeting was a little awkward for both. I did love how Bentley’s brother Travis stepped up into a protective brother mode with Haley.

Picture
As for Haley, no matter what Bentley did or offered, she didn’t give him much to work with. She couldn’t trust him, because of what he did. They went back and forth with what they are or what they shouldn’t be, no matter how much they really love each other. In the end they finally figured out what they wanted and they got their happy ending. Love that they deserved.

I would just like to say that in the 2nd book, I fell in love with Travis. I love how much of a man he was, even more than his brother Bentley. He was super sweet to his girlfriend Whitney and would never in his life leave her or do anything without her. Unlike his brother Bentley, he knew what he wanted way in the beginning. He never doubted his love for Whitney. I hope Travis and Whitney get their own book, because I would love to read that.

This is the part two of the series. It started where we left off from Falling For Bentley, when he left Haley right after they took the next step of their relationship.

 photo Haley_zps5949ec90.jpg

Bentley woke up from after having the most intimate night he ever had with Haley. It confused him, he never felt the connection he has with Haley. The feeling of being choked by someone, like you can't breathe and no matter how hard you try to resurface from drowning, you just can't. And the butterflies in your stomach won't stop with back flips. It's what Bentley felt and what caused him to panic. He panicked because he knew that Haley he's In love with her. BUT instead of holding on to her, he packed up and ran as far away from her.

Haley was falling for Bentley that's why she decided to give herself to him fully. No barriers just Bentley and her. But what she decided I give him, she regretted. Instead of holding on to her, he ran. I felt so bad for her, no one deserves to be left behind specially knowing for a fact that what you feel is real. How could you? I hated Bentley for breaking Haley's heart.

Bentley came back and did not bother looking her up. He felt like everyone was hiding something from him, no one bothered to tell him Haley's biggest secret and that it would make a huge impact in both their life.

Haley knew Bentley was back, but didn't want to give him the time of day. She's hurt by what he did to her. She doesn't know if she'll ever be able forgive him. But since Bentley is so desperate for her forgiveness for breaking her heart. She's trying to get him involved in everything that regards to the baby. Other than that, she wants nothing to do with him.

Will they both come to realize that they both deserve to be in each other's arms? Will they both overcome this hurdle they are in? What will Bentley do when he finds out what Haley's been keeping from him? Will he run again or will he stay and take responsibility? You'll have to read to find out if you want to read something that is sweet and of course you have to have the HEA, right? (winks)

Catching Haley was a quick sweet read. This book picks off where it last left off in Falling For Bentley. There is not much to say about the book but it is definitely a book that moves at a fast pace and with a sweet HEA. I really liked Haley's character in this first book but in this one, I felt she was missing that sass that I enjoyed in the first book. Also, I felt this storyline was a bit rushed towards the end. But overall I really enjoyed this book as Bentley and Haley tries to navigate their relationship and the unexpected newest addition. The secondary characters of the book really completed this book. I love Travis and Whitney!! So if you are look for a light, carefree and heartfelt book, then go give this book a try!

Home is where the heart is the heart is. And that can't be more true for Haley as she spends her summer back home taking care of her grandparent's farm while they are on vacation. While in town, she runs into Bentley, a former high school bully, who made Haley's high school life miserable. Bentley is instantly attracted to Haley and immediately apologize for his stupidity back in high school. So can Bentley win the heart of Haley and show her that he is a changed man? Will Haley leave her city life for life on the farm?

Falling For Bentley by Shawnte Borris is an easy and quick read. It was fun, light, and sweet. Though this book is fast paced, I wished the author took time with the development of Bentley and Haley. I enjoyed their friendship but I felt the author rushed these two in a BAM serious status. But overall, I really liked the book and can't wait to read what's in store for these two in Catching Haley.

A short simple, but addicting story about two people falling in love. This book hooked me from the beginning, that I had a hard time stopping to go to bed to sleep.

I really enjoyed the sparks and the flirting between Haley and Bentley. I love how easily it was for them to fall into each others arms.

Picture
I enjoyed the football team also. They were not only helpful, but sweet and protective towards Haley. Even though Bentley ends up doing something so dumb in the end, I couldn’t hate him. I knew he would find his way and make everything good again.

Yes, this book ends with a cliffhanger, which I usually hate, but not this time, because I got lucky enough to have both copies on hand and went straight into reading the 2nd book Catching Haley.

This story is so sweet and innocent. Was a little too tamed compared to the other books I have read, but I loved it all the same. Shawnte will pull you in right from the beginning of Bentley and Haley's journey, which is a part one in the series. She will make you fall in love like it was your first time falling. Will make you want to slap and pull Bentley's hair and love him at the same time.

Haley is feisty and I loved her spunk. She may have been bullied and made fun of in high school, but she fought it even though it hurt her really bad from all the bullying. And get this, it was Bentley's doing. He was the one who started calling her THUNDER THIGHS at school. It made her feel like she wasn't worth anyone's love and time. She struggled with this issue for quite sometime, it was just a huge impact in her life that it made her so miserable. And when she finally started to think that she's got everything figured out, that she is so over the high school crap that Bentley started, he goes and run into her. She tried to ignore him, but he was very persistent. He just would not quit bothering her until she gave in. Well, how long can she deny this gnawing feeling she has since everywhere she looked, he's there.

Bentley was a high school football coach. And since it's a small town, not everyone were able to afford uniforms. This is where it all changes for Bentley and Haley, her Grandpa makes a proposition, he wanted the football team to work at the farm while he was on vacation in exchanged for the team's uniforms. Of course, Bentley could not refuse the deal. He started working with his team at Haley's grandparents ranch. Each time he sees her, he's just so stunned by her beauty and just could not stop staring, always looking dumbfounded every time she is around. He will not stop at anything to prove to Haley that he is so very sorry for putting her in such a bad situation in high school that it almost ruined her. Will she ever forgive him for his cruelty to her in the past or will she just make him chase her and make him suffer like she did?

These two young couples you will automatically fall in love with. It was such an innocent love story that it made me feel like I was in their shoes falling in love for the first time. Second chance encounter, will they make it right this time or will they both end up hurting even worst than the first time? I can't wait to read the part two of the series. Awesome job, Ms. Borris. I LOVED IT!!!
