As a big sports fan, I absolutely adored Cleat Chaser by Celia Aaron and Sloane Howell. This book left a big fat smile on my face. Usually in sports romance novels, there is always the hot shot star athlete who talks about the big game but in Cleat Chaser, Celia and Sloane did a fun twist on your typical sports romance books. They actually made the hero sweet and lovable right from the start. And they actually did incorporate baseball into the story line.
Kyrie Kent is done with players. She is perfectly contempt to be in her own little bubble with her kindle. She knows what it is like to be betrayed by an athlete. So when her best friend drags her to go to a baseball game, Kyrie was busy reading on her kindle that is until East Holliday caught her attention.
Easton Holliday is a professional pitcher for The Ravens. And so when he spots Kyrie in the stands not paying attention to the game, he was intrigued. In hockey, you have the puck bunnies and in baseball, you have the cleat chasers. And so you can imagine, Easton was intrigued that Kyrie had no interest in being a cleat chaser. So when he asked one of his closest friend, who happens to be dating Kyrie’s best friend, to help set up an introduction, Easton was a ball of nerves. He liked Kyrie right from the start that she didn’t care for his fame and money.
After a few tries, Easton was able to worm his way into Kyrie’s good side. As the two begin to spend quality time with one another, deep feelings begin to emerge. But what happens when Kyrie’s ex-boyfriend comes waltzing back in the picture? Will Kyrie find herself be the one chasing Easton as she tries to win back his heart?
With that being said, Cleat Chaser is definitely your feel good romance. The writing and story line were playful, fun, fresh, and sexy. And can I say, everyone deserves to have a BFF like Nikki, Braden and of course, you can not forget Kacey, even though she is like of those friends you cringe because you never know what embarrassing and unfiltered thing will come out of her mouth. So if you are looking for a book that weaves sports, romance, and laughter then this book is definitely for you.
