Does this mean I dislike the book? Not at all, but I will say Lick and Lead are my favorites of this series. In Deep, it focuses on Ben, the bassist of Stage Dive and his relationship with Lizzy Rollins, the sister of Anne. To refresh your memory, Anne is married to the drummer, Mal. So when Lizzy first met Ben, she was instantly attracted to Ben and wanted to get know the bassist on a deeper level. But Mal being the protective brother warns Ben to stay away from Lizzy. He tells Ben that she is off limits. Although Ben is warned to stay away from her, Lizzy constantly text messages him and he couldn't resist forming a secret friendship with her. When they could no longer stay away from each other, one night of passion ensues. Well fast forward to a couple of months, and Lizzy ends up pregnant. And so the baby drama begins as Lizzy and Ben tries to figure out what their future holds whether it be together or separate.
Deep was an enjoyable read but it was not the best for me. I just couldn't with relate with Ben and Lizzy as much as I wanted. I just wanted to slap Ben upside in the head and tell him to man up and stand up to Mal. I think what I enjoyed most in the book was the appearance of Mal and Jimmy throughout the story line. In true Kylie Scott fashion, the book was fun, sexy, and humorous. In my opinion, I think I would have given this book a higher rating if this book was told in dual POV's because I think getting Ben's POV would allow me to understand him better and his reasoning's. Overall, I will say that I am sad to say goodbye to the Stage Dive gang. Thank you Kylie Scott for introducing us to David, Mal, Jimmy and Ben.
