So what happens when small-town bestselling writer meets bad boy celebrity rock star? Well In Liora Blake's debut book, she introduces us to Kate Moseley and Trevor "Trax" Jenkins. Two people living in different states. One is a country girl at heart and one is living the Hollywood celebrity limelight. So when their paths cross, will this bad boy rocker show Kate that he is the one guy who will rock her world? Or will Kate's past and insecurities ruin their chance of a HEA?
In this debut book, Ms. Liora was able to keep her readers engage through out the story-line. Though this story was told in only one POV, I loved that we are given the heroine's perspective. The raw emotions and conflict that runs through Kate's head was totally understandable because she was wondering why this celebrity would want to get to know a widow from Montana but Trevor makes an amazing hero showing that behind the bad boy persona lies a true gentleman, who truly wants Kate. Ms. Liora does a fabulous job showcasing that second chances do exist and in this case, Kate's second chance at love is her own personal bad boy rock star.
True North is a fun, sweet, sexy contemporary romance that reminds us all to follow our hearts and second chances do exist. The character development was at an excellent pace. The drama/angst was an understandable given Kate's past of losing her husband. So as a reader, I could understand her pain and questioning her relationship with Trevor. Overall, this book was a fun, light and enjoyable read. I look forward on what's in store for this series.
