I love Ascenders 11:11, it is still one of my favorite series and this fourth book did not disappoint.

I was heartbroken when the last book ended with Walker and Daniel meeting again, like they were never together. This book broke my heart on how Daniel doesn’t really know who Walker was. Their time spent apart hurt me, most of all Daniel’s time with Demanda (no matter how short) broke my heart. I hated that girl. Then there’s Cass, a guy I wanted to hate but couldn’t even if I tried. He wanted and loved Walker with all his heart, but he also wanted her to be happy even if it’s not with him. He is the sweetest and the most perfect guy anyone could want, if Daniel did’t exist that is. I wanted Cass to be happy, but not with Walker, she belonged to Daniel and no one else and I’m glad even he knew that.

All the time Daniel and Walker spent exploring their world was painful and beautiful at the same time, but also such an adventure. No matter what happened in their afterlife and how much time they spent apart, they always found a way into each other’s arms. Through the hurtful goodbyes and heartbreaking longing looks, I felt every bit of pain these two lovebirds felt. So when they finally got their chance to be together again, I was overjoyed with emotions. Their reunion may have been just a little part of the story, but it was beautiful. Daniel and Walker truly love each other through anything and everything. Every time Daniel called Walker “baby”, I get goose bumps, It’s so endearing.

Even thought this book ended with the beginning of the book 5, I’m not mad. That just means I get to read more of Daniel and Walker next year. I can’t wait.

I love this series. Of course I am so in love with Daniel, he is one of the best characters out there. This series goes on a whole lot of adventures. Some fun and exciting, but others really terrifying. This book once again shows how in-love Daniel and Walker really are. They are so connected and nothing, I mean nothing…not even death can keep them apart.

 photo Ascenders-Omorrow-Teaser.jpg

I do wish that Daniel and Walker had more time together, because they spent a lot of time apart from each other in this volume. Also, please keep in mind that the adventures in this book 3 are a whole lot slower than the other 2 books. Explanations are a must in this book and a whole lot of it is given. This is an epic adventure with some images that will forever scar readers mind. I will never forget Daniel falling into the street full of demons and if you read the other two books, you would know that Daniel is a fighter. Daniel, Walker and their friends are a group of fighters that would stop at nothing to complete their task.

Author CL Gaber almost had me in tears when my most favorite character was taken away, but only given at the end another start of the epic love story. I cannot wait for book 4, I can picture it now…Daniel and Walker falling in love all over again.

Lux and Lies was awesome. Such a unique story with so many twists and turns. Wren definitely pulled me into her story of good and bad. Wren was just a girl with cancer who wanted to live, so when a cure was promised to her she had to take it. Wren wasn’t ready to die, she wanted to live. Wren was a sweet girl who was sick, but was a very strong character. Wren was also all about saving herself, she did everything she could to live longer than the 23 days she was told she had left.

 photo WB-LuxandLies-Teaser.jpg

Wren lived the life of the rich and famous and she did it well. There were times when she had to do something she couldn’t stomach, but she always had her cure in the back of her mind and she pressed on. The more time she spent in her new life, in the world of reality tv, Wren stubble into corruptions, lies and the big Pharmaceutical giant VidaCorp. Author Meg Collett described all the happenings in the book so well, that I felt like I was really watching this tv show. Her detail was so vivid, I felt like I was finding myself a new show to watch.

Then there’s Roman, who I love by the way. Roman and Wren were electric together. There romance might have been just a little part of the book, but I love what was given. I want more Roman and Wren, please Meg Collett, please make it happen in the next books. I love how mellow the story was in the beginning to give readers details of the world that was created by Meg Collett, then more than halfway of the story the whole thing changes. It was so fast paced once the whole story came out, don’t blink or you might miss something. Lux and Lies is a really great story, that I could see turn into a big time movie. I can’t wait for book 2.

Ascenders is as good as the 1st book, maybe even better. This series gets better and better. I was hooked again from the start. If I didn’t have anything else to do, I would have read the entire book in one sitting. That’s all wishful thinking, of course, but I devoured this book as fast as I could with whatever time I had available. This book is both emotional and full of adventure. Daniel and Walker made me fall in love all over again. The love that these two had for each other was so strong, even I felt it. There’s times in the book that they both almost had me in tears. This book really gutted me, but also made me jump up for joy.

 photo AscendersSkypunch-1.jpg

Anytime Daniel and Walker were apart, it killed me. Daniel and Walker are so in love and would do anything for each other. Walker is a strong woman, but with Daniel she’s so much more. When everything isn’t right in their world, they both fight and fight to make things right. At times life got more complicated and all they can do is live for each other, live for the love that they have for each other and their family. All the beautiful words that Daniel said to Walker, always hit me like a ton of bricks. Daniel is really the family’s hero. Daniel is more than a man, that even he thought he could ever be. He fights for himself, his family and especially for Walker. So much emotions in this book.

This book tied me up and didn’t let me go until the end. In this sequel, we are also introduced to a lot of new characters. Not only do we get to meet them, but we get a POV of how each character had died and a little about their lives before their untimely death. Each and everyone of them share themselves like memories. Daniel and Walker aren’t my only favorite, little Bobby also captured my heart. He such smart boy, with a bad mouth and so funny. Bobby made me laugh through different parts of the book and he also broke my heart a few times. Bobby is too smart for his age and he is the most adorable little boy.

 photo Ascenders-Teaser2_1.jpg

I have so many favorite parts in this book that I can’t pick just one, really I don’t want to spoil this book for anyone. Walker and Daniel have a lot of sweet moments that will forever be embedded in my memories like it’s something real, like how Bella and Edward consumed me when I was reading Twilight. Daniel and Walker are my new Bella and Edward, just rougher and tougher. This book does leave us with a cliffhanger to the group’s next adventure, but it’s not a cliffhanger that will make any fan upset. Just the beginning of the their upcoming adventure. C.L. Gaber you are awesome. Can’t wait for book 3.

This book started out with Emma just waiting around taking care of her dying boyfriend Lucas. Lucas in a coma and Emma couldn’t let him go. Emma relied on Lucas a lot and she was so madly deeply in love him with, that she couldn’t see her future without him in it. Emma and Lucas have been talking about their future together, until he gotten sick. So Emma thought and did everything she could to help Lucas survive.

One night Emma thought her prayers were finally answered and Lucas had finally started to get better. What she realizes soon enough Lucas came back different. Yes he was still sweet, but he was also very innocent and nothing like her Beloved Lucas. As time passes she finds out exactly was happening and that Lucas may finally be save by a friend From a Distant Star.

 photo FromADistantStar-Teaser.jpg

From A Distant Star is a sci-fi adventure, that is all about friendship with little romance. This book was a real page turner and I enjoyed every part of of it. I don’t usually read sci-fi books, but I’m glad I read this one. This one was full of adventure and so much about friendship. This may have started a little sad, but it ended with so much happiness for everyone involved.

Of course I cannot forgot about lovable Scout, he was so innocent and cute…I just loved his character so much. The way he was in the book was so much fun, he was so good to Emma and he was very true to his word. Believe me once you give this book a chance you will meet Scout and love him like I do.

I don’t want say too much about to book, because I don’t want to spoil this story for anyone. So all I can say give it a chance and read it. You will either fall in love with it or hate it, I guess only you can tell.

Everyone gave up on Lucas, and were preparing for his passing, but not his girlfriend, Emma. She never left his side day and night, no matter how much his mother wanted her to leave. She did not want to accept his death, so she went to Mrs. Kokesh, the town witch that was famous for making life altering potions. Although Mrs. Kokesh agreed to help her for free, she warned Emma that she had a bad feeling about the potion, and told her that Lucas would come back different.

Word starts to spread about Lucas’ rapid improvement, and two government agents show up at his family’s farm looking for “pieces of  aircraft” from an “ accidental collision”. That’s when Eric, Lucas’ brother, and Emma started to become suspicions of him. Emma was not expecting for his body to be used as a host for an alien, but that’s what the alien told her. Eric decides that his name will be Scout, and organizes a plan to contact Scout’s planet. About 75% of this novel is about Scout and Emma’s road trip. They find unlikely enemies and allies along the way, but succeed at contacting Scout’s planet.

I was expecting an alien romance when I started From a Distant Star, but was pleasantly surprised when it focused more on the friendship of Scout and Emma. There is some romance, but not between Scout and Emma. The chemistry between Scout and Emma was more like a strong brotherly and sisterly bond than a romantic bond. Overall, this is an adventure novel about different types of love; family love, friendship, and the love you feel towards a significant other.

The "In between." The Afterlife. The middle. Or the most widely commonly known term Purgatory. When it comes to defining the alternative realm of being stuck in the middle, one thing is common. Death. Usually, in this alternative realm, the lines of life and death are blurred. Are we alive? Or are we truly dead? And what are the reasons for being stuck in this realm? Is it permanent? Or temporary?

#1Ascenders

In Ascenders, we follow the life of Walker Callaghan. She is 17 years old and dead. Stuck in this new realm along with her mother, she is enrolled in The Academy. What makes this school different is that there is no homework. No tests. No SATs. You're just there to learn. In truth, actually there are no rules. Why? Well, does the dead need rules. The Academy life sounds simple. Go to school and learn to live in this new realm. But what happens when Walker meets and falls in love with Daniel Reid, the bad boy who causes Walker to live recklessly and break the rules. A boy who makes her live and pushes her boundaries. A boy who challenges her and makes her feel. A boy who would make her risk everything. And the biggest risk Walker Callaghan takes is putting her trust in Daniel as they try to escape their current realm so they can find their way into the living realm? With Daniel by her side, Walker knows one thing is for certain losing him would be like dying twice. They save love can make you do crazy things and so what awaits Walker and Daniel as they try to escape this after-life realm?

Ascenders by C.L. Gaber was an utterly refreshing, original, and an unputtable down read!!! This book was brimming with emotions, feels, and had a striking story-line that kept you glued to your e-reader. The writing was so fresh and crisp. It was written so well that you are completely mesmerized with the characters and their journey of the "in between." With a concept so unique, Ms. Gabers had her readers totally invested with the story of Walker and Daniel. Be prepared to get spell-binded and fall in love with this beautiful and enchanting story.

Is there really life after death?

What happens when you die, on earth, do you go to heaven or hell?

Or is there a middle? The middle is where the recently departed go.

This is Walker Callaghan's story. One minute she was living a normal life on earth, with her mom driving her home from the hospital. The next minute she was on another part of the world, at least that’s what she thought at first. The whole time she is wondering why her mom moved her so quickly without even talking about it. Now living in a beautiful home, she knew they couldn’t afford from living with her Aunt. Next she’s taken to a beautiful school, she knew they couldn’t afford and what makes it more like a dream..is she’s told by the school, in THE ACADEMY there is no homework. Wow, is she dreaming?

 photo IMG_0763.jpg

Then she meets the school’s bad boy Daniel Reid. Wow, he didn’t look nothing like a 18yr old should look. He was tall, with jet black hair, built so big she looked small next to him and most of all, he was the most handsome guy she had ever laid eyes on. What’s a girl to do? Get to know him or stay away from him? Is he really bad news? What she didn’t realize was she was about to find out soon enough.

Walker was in a strange place and she was starting to like being there and Daniel had everything to do with that feeling. But she was also enjoying her time with her mom, but every night she would hear strange noises when her mom is asleep and one day she was gone. On her time of need Daniel was the person that was there for her, he took her in and never let her go. She was basically adopted in the Reid family and became one of them. Daniel and Walker’s relationship was very innocent, but so sweet. From the way they took care of each other, from their very heated kisses, to being a family. Every time they were together, I turned into a teenager, hoping for their next heated moment. I just love these two characters, they were very strong, very loving towards not only each other, but Daniel’s brothers and sisters.

 photo Ascenders-Teaser2.jpg

When Daniel finally lets Walker in on his plan to go back to the living realm, she made sure he knew that he wasn’t going anywhere without her. They planned and planned, until the time came. The plan was dangerous, but Daniel wanted his 6yr brother Bobby back and he would do anything to get him back. Will their love be strong enough to stand the danger waiting for them once they step foot in the living world? Read and find out, believe me, you won’t regret it.

 photo Acenders-Teaser3.jpg

If you a paranormal lover, you will definitely love Ascenders. Ascenders is one of those books you can get lost in. The book is beautifully written that I was excited the whole time I was reading it. This is the kind of Young Adult Paranormal book that remind me why I love the genre so much. Once I started this book I could not put it down, Author C.L. Gaber has a way with words that will keep you satisfied with each and every page of the book. Yes, the book is ended with a little cliffhanger, but it’s a cliffhanger that will get you excited for the next book. Believe me, I am super excited to see where book series will take us.

Till the next book. <3

The Tesla Gate is a sci-fi story, which is not my typical book to read. Yes I watch lots of sci-fi movies, but I hate to read them. I gave this book a try and surprisingly good, but sad. This is a heartbreaking story of a man named Thomas Pendleton loosing his wife and son Seth from a car accident. He is a great guy, very loyal and loving, but he is also very busy with work and do not have too much time to spend with his family. He keeps telling himself that he is doing all this for them, but all in all it wasn't the truth. After losing his wife and son, that's the time he realized that he wish he can go back in time and get a chance to spend time with them. He misses his son and wife so much, yes he was a workaholic, but he was also very much in love with his wife and loves his son so very much. One day when a cosmic storm enters Earth’s atmosphere, the dead started showing. The first day Thomas sees his son, he thought he is hallucinating. He was a little afraid at first, until they started spending time together.

Get your tissues ready for this one, because the father and son time together are really heartwarming, but heartbreaking at the same time. Also Seth is a very cute and smart 6yr old, you cannot help but love him.

After getting Seth back in any form he is in, Thomas was very eager to take his son to a trip he promised him before he died. On the way, they went through a lot of things, even getting kidnapped on the way.

The dead are suddenly being called impals and are not welcome on earth. While the scientist work on their machine to send them all back to where they came from, Thomas and Seth are running for their lives and running out of options on what to do. Will they save themselves and live their lives just the way they are? Or will they be sent into the oblivion? Read the book and find out.

"And if tonight my soul may find her peace in sleep, and sink in good oblivion, and in the morning wake like a new-opened flower then I have been dipped again in God, and new-created." - D.H. Lawrence
