One night Emma thought her prayers were finally answered and Lucas had finally started to get better. What she realizes soon enough Lucas came back different. Yes he was still sweet, but he was also very innocent and nothing like her Beloved Lucas. As time passes she finds out exactly was happening and that Lucas may finally be save by a friend From a Distant Star.

From A Distant Star is a sci-fi adventure, that is all about friendship with little romance. This book was a real page turner and I enjoyed every part of of it. I don’t usually read sci-fi books, but I’m glad I read this one. This one was full of adventure and so much about friendship. This may have started a little sad, but it ended with so much happiness for everyone involved.
Of course I cannot forgot about lovable Scout, he was so innocent and cute…I just loved his character so much. The way he was in the book was so much fun, he was so good to Emma and he was very true to his word. Believe me once you give this book a chance you will meet Scout and love him like I do.
I don’t want say too much about to book, because I don’t want to spoil this story for anyone. So all I can say give it a chance and read it. You will either fall in love with it or hate it, I guess only you can tell.

Everyone gave up on Lucas, and were preparing for his passing, but not his girlfriend, Emma. She never left his side day and night, no matter how much his mother wanted her to leave. She did not want to accept his death, so she went to Mrs. Kokesh, the town witch that was famous for making life altering potions. Although Mrs. Kokesh agreed to help her for free, she warned Emma that she had a bad feeling about the potion, and told her that Lucas would come back different.
Word starts to spread about Lucas’ rapid improvement, and two government agents show up at his family’s farm looking for “pieces of aircraft” from an “ accidental collision”. That’s when Eric, Lucas’ brother, and Emma started to become suspicions of him. Emma was not expecting for his body to be used as a host for an alien, but that’s what the alien told her. Eric decides that his name will be Scout, and organizes a plan to contact Scout’s planet. About 75% of this novel is about Scout and Emma’s road trip. They find unlikely enemies and allies along the way, but succeed at contacting Scout’s planet.
I was expecting an alien romance when I started From a Distant Star, but was pleasantly surprised when it focused more on the friendship of Scout and Emma. There is some romance, but not between Scout and Emma. The chemistry between Scout and Emma was more like a strong brotherly and sisterly bond than a romantic bond. Overall, this is an adventure novel about different types of love; family love, friendship, and the love you feel towards a significant other.
