Marquita Valentine, you have once again have me addicted with your books!!! When I read my first Marquita Valentine book, I was instantly swept away and hooked with her sweet, charming, and wholesome stories. And ever since then, I was a fan. And so when I learned that Marquita Valentine was going to write a new suspense thriller, I knew I had to get my hands on this book. And let me just say Marquita Valentine did not disappoint me at all. She DELIVERED a full throttle of adventure and sexiness in her new release, Prime Target.

“Only you. No one else could come close. I wouldn’t let them. It’s like wanting a fire to light the sky after you’ve witnessed the sunrise.”

A book store owner in the day and a lethal Russian assassin at night!!! Ummm...yes, I'm sold!!! Marquita Valentine did not have to say anymore because I knew instantly this book is going to be devoured. And let me just say you will not want to put this book down. How could you when Marquita Valentine introduces readers to Roman Smith aka Nikolai Romanov.

#PrimeTarget

Roman Smith is not your ordinary shopkeeper who owns a quaint bookstore in a small town. As a shopkeeper, he hardly has any customers and that is fine by him since his bookstore is just a facade. Well, there is just one customer that he has and he looks forward to her once a week visit to his shop. There is something about Everly that Roman gravitates towards to. Her innocence, beauty, and personality breaks through Roman's hard and strong persona. Whenever he is with her, there is something about her that makes him want to be that guy who can be with her freely and open. But Roman knows that he must keep his distance from her because danger seems to always follow him.

“Ever since I first saw you, I've wanted to taste you. Will you let me?”

So when an unexpected visitor arrives at Roman's shop, he finds himself getting shot by another Russian family avenging the death of his brother, whom Roman killed. When Everly arrives at the shop and sees Roman bleeding, their two worlds begins to collide. Roman is now well aware that there are people who will threaten the life of Everly since it has become known by others that Roman cares deeply for Everly. Soon Roman and Everly embark on a whirlwind adventure in Europe as they have become prime targets of chicanery and fourberie. Can Roman be able to save Everly before it's too late? And how will Everly react to finding out that Roman Smith is Nikolai Romanov, an assassin and son of a prominent Russian mafia family?

Prime Target was just AMAZING!!! It was fast paced, action packed, suspenseful, sexy and had that romance love story to keep hearts racing and entertained. The writing was superb and the characters were phenomenal. I love reading a book where an author can vividly portray scenes that felt like I was watching a movie play before my eyes. I adored the amazing tangible chemistry of Roman and Everly. So if you are looking for a book that delivers romance, suspense and excitement then Prime Target is the book for you. I seriously can't wait for Ben's book. Marquita Valentine you have definitely delivered a book that will hold readers hostage.

As a Brazen girl junkie, I loved reading Katee Roberts books. And so when I finally had a chance to sit down and read The Marriage Contract, I was intrigued with the blurb. Right off the opening pages, my interest was piqued when I discovered this was a mafia romance. The heroine, Callie was arranged to marry into another mafia family but another circumstance came about so Callie was surprised to find out that she was arranged to marry the Teague O'Malleys, son of another prominent mafia family in Boston.

#MarriageContract

Instantly there is an insta-lust/love brewing between Teague and Callie. As they navigate through their arranged marriage to each other, mafia business seem to be the forefront as danger threatens as a power play of struggle between the three prominent mafia families begins to intensify. While The Marriage Contract had a romance aspect, this book was so much more. It had layers of suspense, character development, and family history that were intricately exposed and revealed.

Overall, I did enjoy the first installment and look forward to the next two book of this series. I love that Katee Robert was still able to intertwine romance, suspense, danger and power struggle all into this book.

In this third installment to the Alpha's Heart Series, Bella Jewel introduces readers to a female bodyguard hired to protect a bad boy billionaire in Hard to Forget. Ms. Jewel intrigues readers with this unique premise of a female bodyguard named Delaney, who is working so hard to prove to herself and others that she is fit and right for this profession that has been mainly dominated by males. So when the opportunity to protect Jax Shields, a hotel billionaire, Delaney was more than excited to work on her first major assigned case but she gets a rude awakening when she discovers Jax is arrogant, pompous, and chauvinistic. Can Delaney prove to Jax that she can protect him from danger? Or will Jax constantly remind her that a woman can't do a man's job?

As much as I love and adore reading Bella Jewel's books, I found Hard to Forget to be just okay. I think the biggest factor for me not loving the book was the way Jax Shields was characterized. I couldn't for the life of me find his personality appealing. He was rude, arrogant, and chauvinistic. It was so hard to swoon for a dominating alpha hero who has this stubborn and set way of thinking. I think maybe I would have possible understand Jax's personality if the author explained what caused Jax to behave like that. And as for the chemistry of Jax and Delaney, it didn't feel as tangible and palpable. I'm so used to reading tangible passionate and deep connections from Bella Jewel and in this book, it lacked the sizzle for me to love Delaney and Jax.

The strike of a hand. A fist to the face. The spewing of hatred and vile words. The fear of a monster. The torment. The abuse. Broken bones. A fractured rib. A slap to the face. A belt whipping across your back. Endless amount of bruises and sexually abuse. For seven years, Evelyn Beaumont lived in her own personal hell. She was trapped and living in fear by a man she once trusted who violated and destroyed her leaving her broken and shattered. Can a woman who has been badly damaged and destroyed find it in herself to escape and face her fears? Will she find the strength to ask for help?

#ElementalFear

Elemental fear is not a story that is light hearted. This book is raw, intense, dark and raises an awareness on domestic abuse. From an outsider, we can easily say what a person should of done the first time a hand is raised. It is easy to say but sometimes taking that first step is the hardest thing to do. Admitting and screaming to the world that abuse is happening sometimes is hard to do when fear has been implemented. And that's what happened in this book. It is a story of a young woman who wanted to protect her sisters from her boyfriend because she was fearful of what he was capable of doing. She was afraid that he would hurt them so she had to endure the abuse to protect them. While I may not agree with Evelyn's logic, I applaud the author for taking a chance and raising awareness that there are some people who are debilitated by fear. Fear can definitely hold a person back but for Evelyn it took her years to find he strength and courage to fight back.

This book is so graphic and paints a raw portrayal of domestic abuse. While the story is heavily centered on abuse, Ms. Frost was still able to incorporate a love story of a broken woman finding salvation, strength and courage to live through the help of one man's undying love. And this worthy man didn't see a broken, fragile woman but a beautiful woman who is a survivor and fighter. So if you are looking for a book that needs to be heard of a woman's struggle to reclaim her life back, then I would give Elemental Fear a try.

“Everything was suspended. Time. Pleasure. Pain. It was like the entire world held itself in waiting. For her.”

Emotional. Raw. Poignant. Heartfelt. These are a few words that comes to mind when describing The Truth About Him by M. O'Keefe. Ms. O'Keefe has once again had me devouring this second installment as she spellbinds and lures her readers into an emotionally charged second chance romance. With her gorgeous and heartfelt prose, Ms. O'Keefe has readers like myself fully invested into the complicated love story of Dylan and Annie.

#TheTruthAboutHim1

“Sometimes, maybe we don’t know exactly what we have until someone shows us.”

In The Truth About Him, the story of Dylan and Annie continues and picks off where it last left off in Everything I Left Unsaid. The relationship of Dylan and Annie can only be described as raw, intense, passionate, and complicated. So many secrets and truths of their past has yet to be revealed. Their emotional burdens keeps them from being truly honest with one another. And in this second installment, both Dylan and Annie must come into terms of their relationship of how far are they willing to let one in emotionally, physically and sexually. As the revelation of Dylan's past comes to surface, are they willing to fight for their love? Can love and forgiveness heal a broken heart and shattered past?

#TheTruthAboutHim

“The mess of me all over the beauty of her.”

The Truth About Him had everything I wanted, expected and much more in the continuation of Dylan and Annie. I loved how the author was able to douse her readers with raw emotions allowing us to feel for their strong tangible and palpable connections. Your heart will ache, swoon, and be moved as we delved deeper into their past. While in Everything I Left Unsaid was mainly focused on Annie, The Truth About Him was more focused on Dylan. I loved the way M. O'Keefe stripped her characters raw, allowing readers to really see their vulnerable sides while weaving mystery, suspense, erotica, and romance into the storyline. Overall, I loved the conclusion of the story of David and Annie. M. O'Keefe was able to maintain a sexy storyline while keeping it emotionally charged, raw, and heartfelt. So yes, I would highly recommend readers to read Everything I Left Unsaid and The Truth About Him. Both books are highly addictive and will leave readers yearning for more of M. O'Keefe's books.
