When I think of Pepper Winters, I immediately think of the first book that I read from Ms. Winters. And who could forget Tears of Tess and the Monster in the Dark Series. That series alone is something you can never forget because the way Ms. Winters wrote Tess and Q was unforgettably raw and consuming. You could say Pepper Winters is synonymous with dark romance. And in her latest new series, Pepper Winters regales her readers with her dark, lavish, and captivating prose in Pennies.

Pennies is not your hearts and flowers love story. This is not a fairy-tale where a white knight comes to the rescue. This is a story that consumes. This is a story where darkness and monsters hide. This is a story of survival. This is a story where silence is key. This is where hopelessness, abuse, pain, fear, and desperation are the forefront of the story. But most importantly this is a story of Tasmin Blythe and Elder Prest. And just remember, this book comes with it’s own WARNING LABEL. This book will consume and push you out of your comfort zone and most importantly it will take you on a dark journey that will leave you begging for more. So are you ready to enter the world of Pennies?

In this raw, dark, and merciless world, Pepper Winters mesmerizes readers with her consuming prose. Winters paints a vivid picture where every hurt, rape, struggle, pity, self-loathing, anger, lust, passion and silence comes to life. Words are not just ordinary words when it comes to reading a story from Pepper Winters. Even a letter to no one can hold you hostage. Even silence.

Tasmin Blythe was just an ordinary 18 year old girl that is until the day she was taken. Taken to be sold and auctioned off to the highest bidder to become a sex slave. Her worth had a price tag. Ripped from her home, the only thing that she had for herself are the letters that she writes to no one and her silence. They say silence can be deafening and for Tasmin also known as Pim, her silence is her defiance against her master. Her silence is what kept her alive for being held captive by a monster who abused her body. Her silence was her freedom. But what happens when another master enters the picture? What does Elder Prest want with Pim? Is he her savior or tormentor?

Ahhhh!!!!!!! Where do I even begin to express how consuming this book is? This book. These characters. This author. The writing. Everything about this book in general accumulates to give you a story that consumes you to the core. It is gritty, intense, vivid, and raw and yet you can’t seem to look away from the chicanery, dark and violent nature of this book. Pennies might not be a story for everyone but if you are willing to take a chance and venture on Pepper Winter’s dark and twisted world of pennies and dollars then just remember to hold on tight. This book was wicked, intense, gritty, dark and bold and yet I can’t seem to get enough of Prim and Elder.
