A sexy, erotic, and palpable romance that blends sophistication and seduction at it’s finest. In this second installment, Turning Back, JA Huss lures her readers down the proverbial literary rabbit hole where readers will discover the unusual yet rare and special relationship dynamic of Smith, Bric, Quin, and Rochelle.
Three men. One woman. An agreement where they would share and take turns that includes lots of kinky sex as well as companionship. But what happens when Rochelle had enough of the game after three years and leaves without a trace? Fast forward to the present, and Rochelle is back in the picture but this time with a baby in tow. Who is the father of the baby? Bric? Quin? And the most important question, why did she leave and now wants to return back to the game with Quin and Bric?

Quin was the one most affected when Rochelle left. He couldn’t understand why she had to leave because a part of his being was left broken when she decided to stop playing the game without informing him. Bric, on the other hand, cares for Rochelle in his own silent way. He may not be moping around like Quin but Rochelle’s leaving the game, changed the dynamics of the group.
With Rochelle coming back, what happens when there are new rules to the game? Can Quin truly forgive Rochelle? Will Rochelle regret her decision in turning back? And what happens when Rochelle see’s a new soft and sweet side to Bric?
Though Turning Back may not be everyone’s cup of tea, Julie captivates her readers to look beyond the sexual taboo but instead see the visceral connection brewing between Bric, Quin, and Rochelle. Their menage a trois is far beyond just the kinky sex but instead lies an intimacy that was felt in a strong sensual and palpable manner. Bric and Quin are two men who demanded your attention. They deserved to have their feelings, thoughts, and sexual expression be represented. And boy oh boy, did Huss represent them. In fact, she had me rooting for Bric as he won me over with his dominance, presence, and heart. Don’t get me wrong, I liked Quin but Bric was "that" character who stole the spotlight.
Turning Back was what everything that I craved from a JA Huss book. The writing was superb as always. The story line was original. The characters were raw, sexy, and still had the vulnerable emotional aspect to tug our hearts. And as always, Julie leaves no stone unturned as she delicately teases readers with Bric’s story in His Turn. A must read for anyone looking for a fresh, original, sexy romance that packs heat, eroticism, passion, friendship, and kink.
