Steph Anderson heads to the Cayman Islands to get to the bottom if her stepfather stole money from her mother and is embezzling from his company. So there should be no problem if two single attractive people hook up? Right? Nothing at all that is until those two people are after the same thing- million dollars worth of jewels.

I absolutely adored the palpable chemistry brewing between Jake and Steph. Lauren didn’t hold back as she poured gasoline on our hearts as she writes a couple that was tactfully executed to lit a fiery and sizzling romance. With Lauren’s seductive prose, she carefully executes a story that was smart, funny, and vivid. This book was like watching a modern version of The Italian Job and Ocean’s Eleven but with a smaller cast of characters. In Jake Harlowe’s line of profession, one key of success is always being on top and outwitting the other person. And so what happens when Steph discovers that she has been played? Can she handle the truth or will she take up to the challenge that Jake has set?

Though this book ends with a cliffhanger, Blakely did an amazing job laying out the groundwork and introducing her characters. She has definitely staged a story weaved steam, passion, and suspense in such an alluring manner that you can’t help but eagerly await for the next book.
