How I Fly starts where How I Fall left off. As Ellen tries to move on and live her life the best she knows how, she could never forget about her first love Cam and how things ended. Ellen still holds hope that Cam would come back and everything can go back to normal.

While Ellen tries to move on.. Cam is trying to move forward in life, while his life goes in shambles. But not a day goes by since he's been separated from Ellen that he doesn’t think about her. All he thinks about is how he can apologize for the way he left things with them and he hopes for her forgiveness. His heart aches everyday knowing how much he loves Ellen, but may never ever get a chance to be with her again.

Then the summer time comes and they all get a free ride to the photography summer program after winning from their last school project. Ellen tries to move forward by finding herself a summer boyfriend to put her attention to and that’s when she meets Harrison Shaw. A handsome charmer, who was too sweet to be true. But because of Ellen’s determined to find someone to care for, she’s completely blinded by who and what Harrison really is. Yes with her, he is the sweetest boy and a real charmer, but for some reason, something about Harrisson didn’t sit right with Ellen’s best friends. Especially the day Cam met him, he knew right away Harrison was a douche. But after Cam and Ellen had their very open conversation about past, present and future, he promised himself he would try a little harder to be friendlier with Harrisson for Ellen.

As times pass the more Cam sees the real Harrison, that’s when Patrick and Cam work together to watch over Ellen. As time passes, the sicker Cam got watching his love with someone else. Will Cam and Patrick ever find a way to save Ellen from the heartache that Harrison might cause, before it’s too late? Or will Ellen figure everything out on her own?

Can Ellen and Cam really stay friends? How will Cam make Ellen see how much they belong together?
Read and find out.

After reading the How I Fall, I couldn’t wait to get my claw on this second book and devour it and devour I did. I love this series and Cam and Ellen are very lovable characters who were very much in love, that even time couldn’t keep them apart. Even when Ellen tried to have a relationship with Harrison I couldn’t help but hate the guy, no matter how sweet he was. I knew there had to be something wrong with him, way in the beginning. And there’s no way I was going to accept Ellen ending up with anyone but Cam. Cam and Ellen were a perfect match and they belonged to no one, but each other. So All I wanted was for their happy ending and I couldn’t wait for the end to get it. But as the book ended my sadness started. I love the characters in this book and it’s sad having this series end. I enjoyed every minute of this series. Thx for sharing with me Anne Eliot.

How I Fall is life in high school, either the fun life or the no life. Cam in his Junior Year in High School is the popular jock in school. He was the guy that everyone looked up to and followed around, but he is not your typical jock. He may hang around the meanest jocks and cheerleaders in school, but he is nothing like them. Cam is kind and gentle. He may be the Star Quarterback of the school football team, but Cam has no life. Football is his life and his dad never lets him forget it. Cam may play football and be great at it, but he's not playing for the love of it. He plays because he has no choice. His dad runs his life and controls everything about his life and football. With his dad everything is about football and everything else comes last.

Cam has been dealing with life the best he knows how, his parents may be high and mighty..but he is opposite both of them. Cam had also been crushing on Ellen Foster, a girl he could never figure out how to talk to for years. Ellen also had been crushing on him as long as he has been with her. They also have the same love of taking pictures and they are in photography class together. When the school teacher throws them in a project together, they had to spend lots of time together to get the project completed. Which gave them the time they needed to get to know each other. Suddenly Cam’s life was worth it again, worth waking up to, worth going to school for, worth living at all. When Cam finds out Ellen Foster secret that she had been dealing with all her life, Cam didn’t back down. He swore to Ellen, he just liked her even more for being the strongest person he had ever known. After their one on one very open conversation, they decided to give the couple thing a try. The more they got to know each other, the more they liked each other. Cam was very sweet and caring and he started to love everything that is Ellen Foster, Ellen became Cam’s everything. This love is not a one way street, Ellen Foster also felt exactly the same as him.

Everything was great great with them until football and Cam’s dad got in the way. Will Cam’s dad really keep them apart for the sake of football? Will Ellen and Cam be strong enough to stand against Cam’s dad?

I love this book and enjoyed every second of it, it was really cute and fun to read. Cam is super sweet with Ellen, no matter what she may be dealing with in life, Cam was with her 100%. And that first kiss they had, was a SQUEEE moment. It was super cute and sweet, I can’t help but SQUEEE about it.

Of course I can’t forget about Ellen’s two best friends Laura and Patrick . They are the best and Laura is super funny and awkward I can’t help but love her. As for Patrick he has been watching over Ellen since they were little kids and he made it his life’s goal to keep Ellen safe always.

Keep in mind that this book ends with a little cliffhanger, that makes me want to read the next book like right now.

☆☆☆☆ 4.5 Stars ☆☆☆☆

The blurb of the book was what pulled me in, I found the book at the right time when I was looking for a sweet book and this was flashing “read me, read me”. I know it was going to be sweet and very clean and sometimes it’s just the book I need. I’m really glad I read this book.

This story deals with your typical teenage issues and more. This book goes through a lot of things that teenagers goes through. From Jealous exe’s trying to ruin you, backstabbing friends and major bullying. It reminded me how mean kids can really be and that saddened me on what teenagers go through these days.

This book started out with Bentley and her family moving out of their beautiful home, after her dad loses his high paying job. Basically Bentley’s life turned upside down. Because of one main event everything in her life started getting affected. Not only was she losing her beautiful house, she was moving into a crappy apartment.

From beautiful dresses and money, to selling old clothes for money and working at a burger joint. From being in the in crowd to the bullied kid. What’s a girl to do? Well you know the saying “when life gives you lemon, make lemonade”. That is exactly what Bentley does.

I love Bentley’s character she is strong and a great kid. She starts living her life the best she knows how, with what she is given. She was ok with everything and having one awesome friend, then Kai happened. She thought she was over, the boys, then here comes Goth punk kid taking a hold of her heart. She didn’t like him at first, but once they got to know each other she couldn’t help but fall for him. Kai may not be your typical dream guy, but he is good looking. The difference is he dressed the way he wanted and he didn’t care what anyone thought of him. Kai had lots of piercing, tattoos and sometimes wear eyeliner..but when Bentley got to know Kai she realized he was so much more than his appearance. He was a sweet and a good guy. When Bentley needed someone the most, Kai was the one by her side. But with Kai’s jealous girlfriend wrecking havoc and will do anything to take Bentley down, what will she do? Will Bentley give up Kai? Or will she fight for him because he is the best guy she had ever known? Read and find out.

This book is a page turner, if you are into sweet young adult books. I love that the guy is not your typical book boyfriend. Kai is opposite of what a hero should be, he is just a simple guy who fell in love with Bentley and will do anything to protect her no matter the cost. Love this book, very sweet and enjoyable. Can’t wait to read Author Magan Vernon’s other books.

The Queen of Bright and Shiny Things by Anne Aguirre is the second book that I have read from this author. The setting of this book takes place in High School. Either you had fond memories of high school or it was the place you couldn't wait to get out. Let's face it, its all about cliques and the place where you begin to realize and find your identity and voice. And in Anne Aguirre's latest novel, she tackles on the subjects of loss, bullying and finding love and hope.

#1QueenofBrightShinyTHings

Ahhh... you got to love a character who loves those sticky Post-It Notes. The inner nerd in me loved the idea of a heroine who writes postive messages on those colorful post-it notes. The Queen of Bright and Shiny Things really emphasized the message that the only opinion that matters are the people who truly cares and understands you. This book chronicles a young woman who hides her darkness behind the words of positivity on her post-it notes and a boy whose darkness is exposed to all those who see.

Behind the post it notes, Sage is a young girl who has secrets. Her life is filled with pain and heartache. So when Shane appeared, she was intrigued with the new guy since he was not like the other kids in school. There was a special connection that was brewing between Shane and Sage. A friendship that easily blossomed and transitioned to a romantic one naturally. Slowly, they became entangled into each other's lives and began to heal the broken pieces of their hearts and past. So can two people who are struggling with their darkness find healing in each other?

The Queen of Bright and Shiny Things was one of those books that will speak to anyone who is dealing with any issues of secrets and darkness. It is about trying to find the courage to no longer hide. For all those Young Adult, New Adult, and Contemporary Romance fans this book is one of those books that could relate to either of these genres. The writing and story-telling was well paced and had characters that felt real and genuine. Overall, this book was a great emotional and realistic book of life, love, happiness and high school.
